*Needed* 20 to Pre-order Wavetrac LSD for SLK32/SRT-6
I have noticed in my srt6 stock that when accelerating hard the rear "sways" or "drifts" slightly from side to side in a slow controllable way. It isn't the traction control because it does it with and without the traction control. The tires are not spinning when it does this either. I checked everything under the rear (control arms, sway bars, etc...) and everything appears to be solid. Do you guys think it is the traction/power switching between sides? Has anybody else noticed this before the install of LSD?

If Jim is correct...you should have this sway all the time will accelerating...whether racing, or normal spirited driving...might want to look at that as well...but if you are talking about a hard launch...it will move around. We old drag racers don't really care we just point it forward and go....lol
can someone tell me how I work out the following Q re fitting a wavetrac to my SLK32
Q from Devin at Unitrax ....
"....
We need to confirm the style of output shafts. Do you know if you have the "push-in" style output shafts or the "bolt-in" style? If you have the "bolt-in" style shafts, we will send you the orings and circlips required for the installation. Additionally, you will need to have the output shafts machined slightly. The "push-in" style output shafts require no modifications....."
Get under the car - have a look - maybe take some photos....
give him my VIN....
hmmm

lol.......I stand corrected...
My first SLK32 has paddles, my second one (a low mileage parts car I bought complete with less than 12,000 miles) was the test mule, so to speak (I cut its wheel up first to test fit the paddles and did the mods to its shifter .... I then used its DIFF for my wavetrac : )
My 3rd SLK32 is sitting in my race car garage (showroom perfect and only 18,000 miles on it) ... it now has the wavetrac in it and will get paddle shifters soon (waiting on my custom wheel from DCT Motorsports : ). I have not driven this one since I drove it back from Pheonix where I picked it up this spring ... until today (I have to pull it out of the garage for a little while as my 2-post lift is being delivered this afternoon).
Soon enough I will sell my first SLK32 to make room for something else .... (Lantana re-ignited the SL600 bug the other day ... who knows : )
First, however, I need to finish the upgrades to my 3rd ... (2-tone interior swap, Parking sensors/Laser intervention, In-dash valentine one, microwave motion sensor alarm add-on, add MBZ voice control and bluetooth, 62 mm pulley, heat exchanger , etc etc ... )
Oops ... I forgot to answer the question "... 6 [slk32s] all total with paddle shifters?"
out of 40 paddle kits sold, only 4 have gone on slk32s (as far as I know) ... so plus mine, that makes 5 slk32s with paddle shifters.

by "2-piece" I mean NON slip-in. In this version (used in SLk32s until late in the 2002 model year build IIRC), the stubs (1 per axle) remain with the diff when you remove it. This is considered the odd-case relative to the wavetrac mod as all of the SRT6s and the newer SLK32s had the 1-piece (slip in) style.
