Thanks you guys
Thanks you guys
Called the dealer looking for bearings and the parts guy told me there were no such things at srt-6. Does anyones have a part source I can get all four bearings from? I'd rather not deal with these guys and they want $50 a bearing.
Took a couple more shots of how close it was to failing. I dont think many should have this problem because her car made over 400ftlb torque and sprays very early on a run.

Also has anyone had any problems so far with preload? The circlips that hold the diff are preset for the factory rear. Meaning if the diffs are not the exact same dimensions that the gears won't set right. Just seeing if I need to find a source for circlips also.

It looks like you got her out just in time! What about asking the guys at Wavetrac about the bearings. It seems they should be able to match something up.

The axles are snap ring the center section is held in to the diff housing and preload set with circlips. Both different sizes to set the preload on the pinion. If the center section has the exact same dimensions as the lsd then it isn't an issue. Also for the guy having rear noises if the rings were not put in the same side they came out off then preload is off because the rings are not same thinkness, all on the assumption that they are dimensionally the exact same.
These go between the bearing and the housing.

Got it in yesterday.

Buggin, mine arrived Saturday. I was surprised to see the box as it was small with very little packaging inside but everything looked good. Definitely not as bad as what others received. Later
Mine is built and ready to ship. However, I just ordered some new stub axles to be delivered to UNITRAX for them to machine. The SLK stub axles need the c-clip groove machined down a little. As I live in farm-land Germany and few people speak english, I decided it would be easier (albiet more expensive) this way...
Received my diff back last night from Unitrax. Box was in pretty bad shape but my diff was safe and sound inside. Was happy to see my stock carrier was still in good shape. Installed the diff this morning, as well as MikeR Adjustable camber arms and a modified valve body. Took about 5 hours when it was all said and done. Not to bad considering I did it by my self in my garage on jack stands. Car is going to MB tomorrow for a 4 wheel alignment and get my a/c looked at. Thanks again to all who were involved to make this group buy happen.

Woody could tell you the exact drivability differences as he has had both the Phantom Grip and now the Wavetrac.
The second portion is a judgement call. If you race or abuse even a stocker, there is a possibility of breaking the stock diff.

Wavetrac is more of a limited slip, I can feel the difference in corners as I can pull the rear end around in a turn much easier. MY rear had no visible damage or wear. Made me happy. Woody

Has everyone (in the 1st post) been contacted and received thier Wavetrac? I've only accounted for about 1/2 of them based on posts here or PMs.
I have mine installed and back in the coupe. Sent some parts off to Rob for coating at the same time. They arrived today and I hope to have the car running again tomorrow.
