Throwing a P0410 Code
Throwing a P0410 Code
just open to suggestions and I have been doing my research on it, so Im not asking like a n00b.
I know its the Secondary Air Injection pump. MrMoPar has been gracious enough to send me a stock check valve, aftemarket check valve, and a solenoid for a potential fix. Gonna give that a whirl to see if it fixes the issue. Also need to check my fuse as well before moving onto the actual pump replacement.
Just seeing if you guys had anymore insight on this issue. I notice when it rains the car exhaust system seems plugged up with a odd sound to it. My guess is water is being sucked back up into the pump through the exhaust. Could be an entirely whole other issue?

Re: Throwing a P0410 Code
Welcome to the forum!
It sure could be the air pump, but a lot of folks on this forum had the P 0410 code and it turned out to be the Relay Control Module. It's common to have bad solder on the circuit board.

Good luck!

Check the relay in this post from the above link.
This will cause the PO410 fault.

You don't need magnifcation to see the problem some are having with the Air Pump relay. Checkout these pics.

Re: Throwing a P0410 Code
Awesome pics Tighed1! Much appreciated.
Now u raise a good point on the RCM because I actually had that replaced by a new unit because my other one was done and I did start occurring these issues afterwards, so maybe it could be that.
I'm going to check the valves first because the way my exhaust starts to sound I doubt its the RCM causing it which makes sense that water is somehow possibly getting into the air pump causing it to possibly stall? None the less I have to get this issue fixed, so Im trying other alternatives before I have to take it to the stealership. Ill check the air pump fuse to see if possibly its blown which I havent done. Ill keep this thread updated for future reference.
BTW, thanks 6000 much appreciated amigo.

Re: Throwing a P0410 Code
The solder connections are a symptom of the larger issue. If you take off the little spring on the contact plate, and slip the plate out of the relay (copper wire stays attached), you will see that the contacts are sooted black and burned away. I suspect that the relay used is not rated high enough for the actual current draw. If the contacts are damaged bad enough, the fix is to replace the relay or the entire module.

If you want to replace the RCM with a new one here you go.
RELAY. APPARATUS CASE AND CONTROL UNITS for Mercedes SLK 32 AMG KOMPRESSOR (2001 - 2004). #1705450305
I remember going through this, in the end I just replaced mine and been fine. This will fix it for certain, that much I can attest too. German cars are more finicky about there electronics then say your domestics. My ram srt-10 will run fine with no name sensors from autozone, my srt-6 with throw a fit if its not OEM/Bosch.
