Not sure if that's true I just remember seeing it somewhere.
I did read that too. Guess I'm just chomping at the bit with this project! Was a little nervous watching deposits drag in since so many other less expensive projects have fallen by the wayside. Not to mention I'm paranoid over my car right now! Had a buck show up in my headlights last night..jumped on the brakes and about 30 ft from me he darted across..another half mile down the road rounding a corner..7 dear playing street hockey!

Just did this, removed the screen and both 'baffles' in the elbow. Will find out tomorrow how it works out (provided no snow in the forecast). It does make sense, exhausts flow well and they dont need baffles to help "straighten out the airflow".

Hello, what differences have been removing the baffles from the elbow?

I took the baffles out of the elbow as well as the screens. I did leave the screen coming out of the air box just for safety sake. The car sounds better seems to have more low end grunt too. If I remember correctly I picked up 5 HP by doing this mod. Eurocharged documented each change as we did them. E-mail clint@eurocharged.com or jerry@eurocharged.com ,I'm sure they would share. Tell them i told you to e-mail them. They are moving their Houston location to I-10 West area close to Park 10, so they may be a little busy. I would wait a few days then e-mail. when I got my car I think it was 176 RWHP and we have it up to 211.4 RWHP now. It cost less than $500 to add that much.

10hp? Yeah, I bet not.

My own "estimate" is an increase torque value at the bottom of the curve

Are there any photos of the baffles in the elbow that should come out?

Did the mod, have driven the car quite a bit since then. Cant really say the butt dyno noticed a considerable amount of power increase from this. While it may be a HP or 2 increase, I am certain it is nowhere near the 10HP mark. I think this is one of those mods that would compliment other mods that free up the airflow instead of making a huge difference by itself.

I cut the fins. and use a grinder stone and sandpaper. I also made the inside of the 90 degree bend smoother.
Didnt take off the plastic screen or much less the metal maf screen. I didn't feel like I needed to.
Did a tune up all 12 spark plugs and removed the coil packs, its easier that way.
Car feels stronger. or maybe its just me.
