BEGi Turbo Kit information/discussion thread
Well glad to see they have done something with it at least rather than just tubes on a table! Guess they will be ready for my car pretty soon! CF2...
You mean 2 week update?
Glad to see something on it.
I bet you are getting more anxious than we are.
Sounds really low boost, the other YouTube video of exhaust has no turbo sound, is it straight piped and no cats or muffler? Or just muffler only?
Any idea on boost and power achievable?
So you getting your car back in 2 weeks?

Holy hell DJ! At least it's running, but that took forever. I would guess at this point it should be free considering it sounds like a breach of contract for how long it took to complete.
DJ, I am thrilled they have done something, but if the easy part took 3 years, I wonder how long the hard part (tuning) will take?
You are a saint and corky is a turd.

Haha, what really amazes me is that somoene is still asking when it will be done, as if he would like to purchase one. Wow.
Me? CF2.. I've had long enough to join DJ in the 3 car dept.. figure only 1 1/2 years to complete!
Yeah, I've been asking, I know it's going to take me a while to save up for the kit and depending on the price I may buy do the turbo kit or get a V8 swap. It's all dreaming right now, I'll have my Crossfire paid off in 2 months and will be done paying off my student loans next year and hopefully a promotion soon as well.
Just remember in the early yrs , somebody put a turbo a na crossfire , but never could get it to work , and it going to take another 3 yrs to find that out , LOL
Any updated info?
The boost is minimal but heard how much?
If NA would handle 7-9 safely would be awesome.
A engine with 5-7 psi can last longer than a NA, just due to engine moving more freely.

Two more weeks no doubt.
Corky update:
DJ,
We got caught in a limp-home mode for a couple days. Absolutely frustrating. Fixed yet another oil leak, my fault, not Mercedes.
Two flaws in tailpipe hangers we built in had to be fixed. Easily done. Same old development details.
Somehow, we have a lean condition on low speed and cruise conditions which I don't understand. The air velocity through the
flow meter is in control of this part of the operation range. We've been altering the inside diameter of the flow meter mount to speed up the air. It has not responded to change yet, but the next change may do it.
All else remains working well, clean, delightful and even fun. We will get the details in order soon, but predictions are precarious.
Fuel under boost has proven easy, and is currently running a bit rich, but that is just adjustment of the regulator. This is not an urgency, the low speed is.
All sign point to a fast car, save the low speed and the turbine being too small. We can fix the turbine in a heartbeat, but low speed is our focus. With that conquered, we essentially have it.

DJ......If it is any consolation, it took me 3 yrs to get mine where they are now. And, I am still hoping for a rear end gear change....lol
so after 3 yrs or so corky is driving your car around and you still don't have it? dj go get your car and take a ball bat to his lying ***
At least I was driving both mine the whole time....lol. I agree with Steve. Go get it, and shop for a V-8 to slap in that puppy in the future. Hell, Rudy loves warm weather and I am sure an all expense paid trip out west would be inviting...lol
You need to read thru this thread.... DJ isn't running anything and hasn't for 3 yrs while waiting on a promised boosted N/A conversion. At this point, most of us are glad the car still rolls and is in 1 piece. At least he will get his car back.
