Help! Strange noise
Hi everyone! Hope all is well with you and your motor
I am well but I think something is wrong with Albino.
Problem/issue:
Drive and pull throttle all is good.
When throttle is released, some strange clunk noise is coming from back.
Is it gearbox? I topped up the fluids today and hope that will help.
Could it be the rear axles / lsd?
Going from D to P or R it is very clunky and in P it "rolls" a bit before stopping.
Please help
Have a great day!

If it would be the differential, then I would not be able to drive right?
Correct.. flex coupler... flexdiscs.. and I wouldn't rule out the differential. Extra set of ears outside the car while you run it in D to R wouldn't hurt anything to help isolate where it's from.
how can I listen if it is dif or the discs? Almost same place...
THanks for answers...
Also, changing the flex ... Difficult?
Then crawl under with a good flashlight and have a peek at the front & rear flex disks, if you see any cracks in them, then they need replacing.
Not too difficult to replace the flex disks.
I hope this is the problem, differentials get REALLY expensive.
Maybe check with MrMopar if you do need a diff ?
You can jack the car up on one side and put it on stands, or jack up just the rear using the jack on the differential and use jack stands.

Just wanted to add some part numbers for the SRT6.
As we can all tell from Chryslers part listings they do not show a flex disc kit for the SRT6, only the NA. Now I am not saying one is not out there somewhere in Chrysler land but here is what I found today.
The SRT uses two part numbers A 203 411 00 15 for the rear and A 210 411 02 15. Now here is where things get interesting! Mercedes dealers do have these, however the part casting number is not the part number on the boxes. Normally we see A170 for the slk32 and those are the part numbers on the bag, at least in my experience.
The units I picked up today are the a 000 411 02 00 and a 230 410 01 05
Not the real kicker is that if you use the casting part numbers at the dealer, only one of them is available in the US, the other one comes up as a Euro part only and must match to a euro vin. Funny thing is that one of the part numbers above is actually that part.
NOTE TO 180: HOPE I INDICATED ENOUGH CREDIT FOR THE INFORMATION..
Thanks for all the help!
Listen to this:
I was able to locate parts (on a Saturday + it is royal wedding here) but prior to purchase I felt like lifting the car up. Prior I had only looked underneath it when being on the ground.
When lifted, I started to rotate tires( in neutral) and saw that flex discs are a ok. But here is the thing.
The rear tire was loose. Not a little either.
So I exchanged bolts to new ones and screwed it back on. Solved the problem.
I do not want to speculate but I will def kick all 4 tires every time I hit off.

Wow... Glad we at least motivated you to get out there and take a look! Would have probably been nasty if it would have come off running down the road..
