The relocation of the buttons isn't too difficult if you are handy with a soldering iron. Since most of the switches in this car are operated by varying the impedance on them, using butt-connectors is out of the question. We can definitely relocate the buttons for you in the console but the wires will be a little difficult to do since we are located in MN. Worst case scenario, I can make a pigtail with labels that you can label each wire, cut them, and then solder the corresponding wire together at the other end. We can definitely work with you on this. PM me and let us know what we can do for you

why do they need to be resoldered? the switches would only have to drop down a couple inches. its not like they were moved to where the elbow is like you guys' original design

That is the only one we are offering right now. We are still working on one to replace the ashtray/airbag light/lighter socket but we are having trouble getting it as solid as we want and as of right now, we aren't satisfied with the design. If people want to wait until we get this one right, they are more that welcome to do so and we will continue to update this as we make progress.

Is the sellable console, like the one from alpine done yet? I think I would be in. I have an in car PC in mine, and I have the monitor on top of the dash right now, which sucks. I will post some pics later. This is definitely needed.

OK this is a little off topic and I do not want to high jack this thread. But everyone both in the know or interested in modifying the center console is all ready here. I have a Kenwood KVT-719DVD with the flip out screen in my Crossfire. It is hooked up to a Kenwood GPS system, a back up camera and my I-POD. This works great, except that the screen is a little to low to follow while driving and it partially blocks the heater controls. The other problem I have with the dash is that center vents are at just the right hight so that when the air is on it freezes my right hand and when the heat is on it dries out my right eye. What I need to know is can I move the kenwood up to where the vent is now and the vent down to the place for the radio. Is there enough room to run a vent tube down behind the head unit to reach the new vent location?

you could probably do it. but my suggestion would be to close the middle vents and use the side vents. i agree with the dry out the eye part. that happens to me. and so i closed the middle vent. and it comes out stronger on the outside vents

It's definitely doable but it would be completely one-off and we'd need the car to do it which you being out in WA makes for quite a conundrum. Things to keep in mind with this would be we'd need a donor vent to mount the radio as one of them will need to get hacked to be placed into the radio portion of the dash. It wouldn't be too difficult from a standpoint of rerouting the air from the vents but you would need to pull the entire dash out to do so meaning lots of work. One bad thing about this car is you can't move the climate control as the vent selection is direct drive mechanical meaning there are two little tubes if you will coming out from behind the climate control ***** and going right into the vent selector in the dash. I'd love to do something like that for you but I don't see it happening unless you were going to vay-kay for a week in MN. Duluth is pretty in the fall. Wish I could be of more help.

Thanks for the reply, sorry it took me so long to respond. I have been trying to make up my mind just how far I want to take this dash redesign, and you gave me as usual a lot of good information. I am slowly putting together a spare console and dash. This is so I can do most of the modifications without the pressure of time and having my car torn apart. I still need to find both dash end pieces, the side vents and the gauge surround in black. If you run into any spares, I am in the market.

Someday, yes. We've made one very similar to it but it's very one off and to make it on a large scale with the hours we have into it, very price prohibitive. We're just working on making one that we can mass produce so we can keep the price somewhere reasonable.

Everybody made fun of me when I said how high would be the cost to mass produce this....... I don't see any results guys...... what is going on......

Again.....to mass produce this console will cost a lot of money....I mean a good quality center console...not a piece of...shi.....t made of fiber glass........

If you're interested in doing this......go by yourself.....start researching with liquid abs plastic.....etc...etc....and be ready to spend ours of work...

have fun...
