Default Remove plastic panel?

How do you remove the plastic cover on top of the center divider behind the seats? I'd like to run a wire under it but can't figure out how to remove the cover.

From the roll bar installation thread:

1. move both seats as far forward as possible
2. remove the map book pouch that's between the seats it has 2 plastic hooks that slide outward at the top and 2 that slid upward at the bottom
3. There are 2 torque bit screws, I believe they are a T20 or 25 that hold the umbrella hooks once they are removed you can slide them upward to remove them.
4. on the rear bulkhead top cover there are 2 round approx 1 inch in diameter buttons they will unscrew just put some hand pressure on them and turn them counter clockwise, and the carpet behind the seats there are 2 more buttons with a head on them they also unscrew in the same fashion.
5. now you will need a T10 torque bit and remove 3 screws on the right and left metal door seal top plates buy the seat belts. then pull the door seal away from the carpet approx 16 inches.
6. now the hard part, get a flash light and look in the slot were the seat belt comes through and you will see a hidden Philips screw 1 on each side. I used a magnet on a screw driver so you don't drop them if you do good luck trying to find them. I couldn't ! Next I used a long flat tip screw diver and slid it through the slot were the seat belt goes through and gently prided upward on the seat belt cover near the rear side glass. the plastic tangs that slid in to the clips that hold them are very thin and brake easily .

Sounds like a lot of work.

Guess I'll wait until it warms up to try this.

If you need to run a wire into the hatch area there is a simpler way. At the junction of the bulkhead and the side of the car there is a hole that is quite large and you can thread a wire through there easily. I'll add a photo I took of it if I can find it. I put the CD cables through it. This hole comes out behind the black panel that hides the gas filler cap area. I'm sure there is a similar hole on the drivers side.
Here is the CD install post, peel the trim of the rear door post and pull the carpet on the bulkhead back. You will see the hole, you will have to remove the molded panel on the side of the trunk to pull the wire through. There are a lot of wires passing through this hole.

If 180's suggestion works for you do it that way. As I recall when you pull the bulkhead cover you also have to pull the rear, side window plastic trim mouldings. You have to be very careful you don't break the tabs on those mouldings doing that. I can tell you from experience they are about 20 bucks a piece to replace.

Thanks but I can't take the credit, I "borrowed" it from the roll bar installation thread

Is this all that's necessary to remove the small trim above the seat belt? Im trying to remove the sail panels in the trunk and I'm pretty certain these have to come off first.

Folks, my plastic cover on top of the center divider behind the seats is very cracked and falling apart on a 2004 Coupe. What is the part number for this as I cannot seem to find it in the parts catalog ?

Is it the bulkhead cover? If so, try this one here.

To ZERACER and Bargegeek, thank you for the responses. Gee $215 for the part from prior posts was less than a $100. I continue to look to see if I can find cheaper. Too bad I'm not that mechanically inclined else this looks like a good project for 3D printing.

I don't blame you, some think the parts are made of GOLD!

If this was printed using 3D it would cost much more.
Every scrapped car has one, find one and paint if required.

Around $200.00 is what the Bulkhead covers are going for now. Hard to find them not broken. Here's a repair option you might want to consider . . .

Hi Red Dog, onehundred80, GraphiteGhost thanks for all the suggestions. Yep the suede does look nice but mine is cracked so badly, not sure epoxy will work. See the pic attached

If this is made from ABS/PC then you could use acetone to join it back together and use FG to strengthen it from the inside. Then cover it as mentioned earlier. Acetone liquifies the plastic for a few seconds while you realign it. A few quick applications is often required to get some depth of liquified plastic.

If you're not "missing" any pieces (and it looks like they're all there) then that is very repairable. This is the epoxy you should use . . . Great stuff . . .

Look here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-JB-WELD...QAAOSwYHxWOe8P

FYI - These get cracked and break when the seat or the seat back is run back too far putting pressure on them. When you get it repaired or replaced, be careful running your seats back . .
