Exclamation blower problem cause

I am presently t/s my inop blower. I removed the blower and connected 12vdc directly to the motor and nothing happened until I rotated the fan blade. It slowly spun up to high speed. I ran it for ~30 seconds. I touched the brush holders and one of the 2 burnt my finger. Checking the resistance with my meter shows mostly open as I rotated the blade. I believe the cause of the problem is the result of a clogged cabin air filter. I pulled mine and found green exterior carpet, mouse do do, an some other ufo material. I am guessing it probably was only allowing 10% air flow which would cause excessive heat to the motor and regulator.

I'd think probably one or both of the carbon motor brushes is shot, or the commutator on the rotor is all gunked up.

There is a problem with the motor, clean up the brushes, one may be sticky in its slot and wipe the commutator with paraffin or electronics cleaner, check the bearings. It should easily turn by hand.
You may have to buy a motor, if so keep the control pack on it as it costs more than the motor if it is OK.
