Default Replacing interior netting on storage pockets

The storage netting on my doors and passenger foot well has become loose and saggy, along with the storage pocket material behind the seats.

Has anyone came up with a solution to restore or replace these areas?

There is a post on it somewhere, I’ll look.

Mine was sagging, too, on both doors. I just pulled the top line a little tighter and tied a knot in it. It's been doing well like that for a year.

I hope there's a better solution for it.

Besides just tightening up the top string and tying a knot, I also bought this little pocket door bin on amazon. It serves the purpose to hold a few little things. Then, the netting becomes just cosmetic. I've had it two years and still like it.

Sure wish there was an easy replacement item for the netting, but I can't find it. Maybe that's an opportunity to create something.....

I bought some 1/8 inch bungee cord ,https://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-1-8-x-1...sAAMXQt~hSKlHI, cut the old cord out at each end. Measured out the new cord to about 2/3rds the length of the pocket. Tied a couple of tight knots in one end. I was able to separate the panel from the door just enough to push the knot through the hole. Wove the new cord through the net an did the same thing on the other side. It's not a perfect solution , but it works

That sounds like a good plan. They are getting old and starting to sag just like me.
I wonder if a 1” nail pushed halfway through 2” from the end and then it and the bungee chord are pushed through the hole. I think the nail would return to 90 degrees and stop the bungee chord coming out. Do it both ends and your done

That's what I've done so far - just tied a knot, but it looks bad.

Has anyone taken their door panel off to see if the existing cord could be shortened or a new and similar bungee cord could be installed?

Yes you can, here is a link to an ebay page....https://www.ebay.com/itm/04-08-Chrys...ry!98292!US!-1

If you zoom in on the back side of the panels, you can see where the bungee comes through.... very apparent when you look for the white dots (rubber cording). I would have copied the pictures and posted them, but I'm unsure as to how much resolution would have been lost.

Here is another link for the bungee cord...… you can order it in contrasting colors as well..... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-8-Shock-C...MAAOSwRJpbccB1

The netting in my most recent XF purchase is showing its age. I was also researching replacing the cording.

If you remove the door panel, you can tighten the top cord by pulling on the end (you'll see the metal ball attached to the end of the cord where it comes through the back side of the door panel). When you pull it tighter it will automatically lock into the new tighter position.
