Glad you went back and tried it again. I was sure it could connect both ways and I did the same thing the first time and panicked for a moment. Then thought lets try it the other way and to my surprise and relief it fit and it worked !! Enjoy

the 1st time i followed process 2 and removed the side panel. this leaves you unable to see and very difficult to remove and replace the plugs. this time i followed process 1 and removed the pedal. this was just as easy and it was much better. i suggest everyone use process 1 above.

thanks all for your help. i feel stupid but at least it's working now so I'm a happy driver.

I just received my Sprint Booster today, for my autostick coupe, and took a peek at it as I may not be able to install it until the weekend. Mine came with one end plugged into the other. Looking just at that, I can't quite see how it is possible to install it backwards. I was hoping one end would be colored differently from the other so I could ask those of you that recently installed one, which end connects to the pedal assembly. But lacking that, and having read how it can be difficult to disconnect (by squeezing) the existing plug from the pedal assembly, it seems that the end of the SB that has the squeezable plug must go onto the pedal assembly. Am I missing something here about this hookup? The SB is just inserted in-line between the pedal assembly and the existing plug/connector is it not?

Yes that is the correct way for installation. Due to the popular demand of these directions I'm going to see if I can get a video or at least a PDF of the install into a Crossfire. I'll try to post it to our site by Wednesday.

Dickbee, you are missing what happened to me. there is a male and female end of the SB. it's not a problem of which end of the cable plugs into what, but the plug itself can plug in 2 ways. when you look at it, it appears there is a flat edge and a curved edge and it should go only one way but infact the plastic must move enough that you can plug the curved end into the flat side - which must have been what i did. in all my life i have never seen a plug that would do this but i guess i was due. when i tried again, i carefully looked at how the old plug came apart (much easier to do when you remove the pedal) and plugged the sb in the same way. bingo.

it's not that difficult. of all the folks here that bought a sb, it looks like it was just me a maybe a couple others that had this issue.

Thank you for the clarification. Now I understand the problem and your clarification should enable me to do it right the first time. I will know what to watch out for now. Thanks!

I did'nt bother to remove the gas pedal, or anything else. I just just used a flat screw driver to pull the little tab away that secures the connector in place, and separate the connector off the top of the pedal, connected the s.b. to it, and then the other end, and tucked it away behind the panel above the pedal. I could not see the need to remove the pedal, although of course it will make the job less fidley.
As for the results - Im very dissappointed, Its made a slight difference to throttle response in the mid range when I want to drive hard, but it dos'nt pull away any better as the throttle lag is still the same. So for normal driving there is no difference to me. Having read all the hype on this maybe I was expecting too much, but I think they are a waste of money!
Cheers, Steve

I have not heard of anyone not feeling any difference, it sounds like there is a problem with yours. I would contact Boulekos directly and let them know your findings and I'm sure they will help, I dealt with them directly setting up the first group buy here and they were very helpful. Their email is
info@boulekosdynamic.com and their web site is http://www.sprintbooster.gr/en/index...tpage&Itemid=1

I've done quite a bit of searching both on here and google but still I'm coming up empty handed. Is the Sprint Booster just for the automatics or is there any benefit to this in a manual as well?

As kindly advised by our USA based forum buddies, It seems, for some reason, my ECU didnt detect the presence of the gadget. So before giving up on it I went through the following process;
1: remove the S.B. to and confirm it as inoperative.
2: do the throttle reset proceedure, and again no difference.
3: refit the S.B. again no difference
4: do the throttle reset again with S.B. fitted: results = WOW - NEARLY SHREDDED MY REAR TYRES!

It appears that the throttle reset done with it fitted did the trick! ( but Im not sure why )
It may be a step for everyone to do this after fitting the S.B. ?
Cheers for now
Steve

I noticed a huge difference even without doing the throttle reset. I wonder if this shaves off a few tenths 0-60...anyone with a GTech to find out??

Laugh if you want but I've never been more frustrated in my $%$*# life! First I tried to take the peddle assembly out but that %&$%# washer would not come out no matter what I did (magnet, wiggling and pry method etc.) so I then resorted to the "super glue method" by applying super glue around the rim of the socket and hoping the washer would stick. NOPE! Instead the glue leaked and now the washer is literally welded via superglue to the bottom of the plastic housing and stuck at the bottom permanently!

Method #2: Removed the two Philips screws and the plastic console but can't for the life of me disconnect the damn electrical connector. My fingers are literally bleeding trying to squeeze the two ends and pulling out simultaneously. There is no room! Even had my buddy climb into the passenger side and use a long straight edge screw driver to pry up while I was squeezing the two ends together. Nothing! I don't $&#@&#@ get it!

Anyone want to buy a SprintBooster (Automatic Transmission 3-mode version (off, normal, or race mode)? I'll sell it for $200.

Yeah, I'll take it. I assume it is still glued to the car. LOL
Nice bargain for $200, a Crossfire and a SB.

Sorry you had so much trouble. I wish you had posted your problem here asking for advice before you super glued that washer in place. I agree that removing that washer is difficult and if you don't get it out you simply cannot lift the bottom of the pedal assembly off that stud. I've been there . . . You just need the right little magnet tool for this job . . . a very small magnet on the end of a (usually) telescoping wand . . commonly used to retrieve screws, nuts and / or other little parts that get dropped down into hard to access places.

When I was selling the Sprint Booster I had several members offer me $200.00. I'll check through my e-mails and PM you contact information for the forum members who might be interested in buying your Sprint Booster for $200.00.

Don't give up. The washer has to come out or the pedal wont lift up. Try putting a socket on the washer and smacking with something to break the glue. OR drip some fingernail polish remover (acetone) on the washer and it will dissolve the super glue. I fiddled with it to in the heat and got pissed. I finally got a 1/4" drive socket just big enough to go around the stud and stuck a magnet on the socket to magnetize it and the washer lifted up in 2 seconds.

Default Sprint Booster install...

Is the SRT-6 Sprint Booster BDD451A2 still available? If so, where do I go to order one?

Other than a 'possible' situation of the XF cutting out, are there any other downsides of installing the SB? And, yes, I'm well aware of the difficult washer.
