Alarm is about to P... me off.
My alarm sounded off for the first time last weekend, yep memorial day weekend of all times.
I read through all of the posts, thought maybe the battery. I checked the battery to find that it was the original on a 2004 coupe. I went on memorial day and had a new battery put in. Everything was peaceful until today when I was heading out to my XF to hear that anoyance of an alarm screaming. I had to wait for it to run it's full cycle as the key fob couldn't shut it up. I wrapped the key fob, that I normally carry with me, in aluminum foil to block any odd rf signals that may be transmitted from the fob to find that the alarm sounded off again. This time the backup fob did turn off the alarm. I've only had the car for a little over a month. Love the car but hate the alarm acting like it is. Any suggestions for possible fixes, short of tearing the car apart, would be greatly appreciated.

Okay,
I've been trying to fix this issue all day.
Went this morning and got new batteries for both key fobs, and replaced them after the alarm sounded off again. I'm noticing that the alarm is doing this when the temp outside gets to around 95 deg and higher. I did run a diagnostic using an OBD II code puller and have no codes showing. Next time it goes off I guess I'll start replacing fuses, then the relay. I did see that on a SAAB forum that the cause of their alarms acting up were the rechargeable batteries in the alarm itself. Their batteries were at the end of their life had had to be replaced.
If the issue is due to the hot climate here in Texas can someone please advise what part of the system could be the culprate?

There are about 4 different threads running right now for the same problem. Read them.
Then read this one:

AWESOME....
Thanks for the info.
So far, since installing the new key fob batteries, it's been quiet.
If it acts up again on me I'll be bringing it to the dealership to replace the module, and (as Blkfin did) I'll be able to take mine to Huffines as they're only a few miles from me.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll be taking it to the dealer this week, stupid thing went off again 15 minutes ago. Hopefully I won't get soaked too deep in the wallet.
Thanks,
Just got off the phone with the dealer. Unfortunately they won't be able to get to me until this weekend. Guess I'll see what else I can try. I did try just locking the door with the mechanical key, but the alarm still went off. I must be missing something, going to try the owners manual again. I'll keep ya'll posted as to what happens.

I'm in Alabama and somewhat similar as heat goes (yeah I know Texas dry heat!!! LOL ). I have 75,000 on my Roadster and NEVER had a problem due to heat....did I mention the car is BLACK in color. Have a hard time believing it's heat related
.
Okay folks,
Latest update on the alarm situation. Yesterday, here in north Texas, the temps didn't get above 90 degrees. The alarm didn't act up on me either. Today we're in the upper 90's and sure enough I get home from work, park the car in the car port. About an hour and a half later bingo the alarm is "skreem"ing again. I almost convinced that it's the hot weather and something to do with the hatch sensor. I'm saying that because everytime that this happens is when the sun is beating down on the hatch. But, I've been wrong before.

Okay, brought the car in this morning. Got a call from the dealer around noon. They hooked it up to a code puller and found, from what they told me, a slew of error codes. The service rep told me that they're not exactly sure what caused the error codes, but need to keep the car through Monday. If it's the part the tech thinks it is that's causing the issue, it's going to be a 1,000.00 dollar repair. But they can't quote me at this point. Guess I'll know something Monday.

One would think.
Let me know.
Thanks, hopefully they will want to stay on my good side.
At least the rental car is a cheapo, hate that it's a POS Kia, but on the bright side. I'm not listening to my alarm SKREEM today.
I'll post with the outcome on Monday. I'm hoping for cheap cost for the repair.

I just got off the phone with the dealership. Good news, okay well better than a 1,000 dollar repair. The alarm finally sounded off for them this afternoon, post their clearing the codes from the OBD, the code that popped up for them today allowed them to trace it to a shorted siren. They were able to locate a replacement siren and will have my baby back to me tomorrow afternoon. Quoted repair of $430. He did say that with these cars (MBs) that a lot of times one bad component in the electrical system will trigger other codes to get thrown. Thanks again for the responses and concerns.
OUCH....thats well over 200 for labor for like a 45 min job.....yikes......Its really easy to replace that siren, its just under your windshield wipers and a guard in the middle.
Got the car back on Wednesday evening. They installed the MB siren which now has an audible tone when arming and disarming. Seems to have fixed the problem. I know it sounds like a lot for the job that was done, but I just didn't have the time, patience or knowledge to try and attempt this myself. If the alarm acts up again, I'll be sure to post to this board. Thanks again guys.
Okay so here is the deal - I had this happen and your going to get all kinds of replys but here is really what is wrong (my car sat at dealer for over a month they said nothing was wrong with it).
The locks are air operated - the compressor in the trunk is losing pressure as soon as pressure is gone the alarm goes off - it is that simple - but a ***** to figure out.
-Some will say "is it parked on a hill (so what it should still work)"
-Is the car level
- are the doors closed all the way
IT IS THE PUNUMATIC SYSTEM
