No no, I'm using the warranty at the dealer to get the part switched out. It fully covers the pump.
I have to wait till wednesday till they can actually service my car since they were packed this morning.

when you take it back,, tell them the problem you are having and tell them you need the pump and the filter changed insist on talking to the mechanic,, tell him you have done research and the pump and the regulator/filter are most likely to be bad,,,need to be replaced. and add any other problem you can find, slip him(the mechanic) 20.00 ,,,he will take care of you. jim

Dont think the warranty covers the filter so I'm doing the pump for now. They want to charge me a diagnostic fee though, even though i told them what needs replacing.
Isnt there a mechanic that lives close to chicago that's done the pump for another member before? If he could help I'd be willing to drive there and I could order the pump from needswings for like 50 bucks I think?

try your best to talk to the crossfire mechanic. go by there before your car is to be taken and ask to talk to the crossfire mechanic that will be doing the work on your car,, believe me if you can talk to him that is like five stars on your part. then when you take your car in tell the service rep you want that mechanic to work on your car,, i went to two different dealers the third one they sent the mechanic out to me , I would then get anything i wanted, yea i tipped him good. example I wanted a 4 wheel alignment,, service said not covered,, my mechanic wrote up wheel bearing bad and lower control arm bad alignment required,, no only did i get the alignment i got new control arms ( the bolts were the reason the control arms were replaced. try it you have nothing to lose. jim
oH the filter also has the regulator in it so it should be covered,,call it the ,fuel regulator so you need your fuel regulator and fuel pump replaced.

Not surprised about a diag. fee.. kinda why I suggested MrMopar on here. For your money you could probably have the filter and pump and enough for a cheeseburger and pop when your done washing up.. I would step out and say John's parts were working flawlessly before MrMopar became the owner. Feel free to correct me John..

The croosfireshop link seems to take me to a godaddy link saying domain is up for sale?
Also, I'm not versed in changing a fuel pump at all, so I wouldn't know how to do it myself :\

Actually he just established the domain. Instructions were listed earlier in this thread..sounded straight forward.. pump not internally mounted..couple clamps.. you could send him a private messge at the link I posted if you have any interest in going that route.
Well I have 100 bucks to play with for getting a pump AND getting it put in by someone who knows what they are doing. I think that kinda kills my chances to buy the stuff myself no? Sigh, this sucks either way I look at it.
Edit: If I sound negative, it's because I also smashed my left index finger 2 hours ago on my car door. I cant even use that finger right now, its in constant pain.

Get the diagnosis and a written (not verbal) report, do not insist on a pump replacement, as if they can they will replace the pump and filter and ding you with more cost. You want this problem fixed at the least possible cost to you. Hopefully a diagnosis fee, the deductible and taxes, no more.
If I had this problem and I did the repair myself and had no diagnosis tools available, I would change both while I had the system apart. A dealer may do the same just to make more money.
They said I wouldnt have to pay anything but the deductible if the warranty covers the pump, which it does. I'm gonna talk to the warranty guys to see if they filter is also covered. Hope it is

I would take the car to Rudy at Speedriven if you are within a few hours of the shop. Well worth the money, as this old dog isn't convinced it is a fuel pump. Just cause one member had the problem doesn't make it yours. You need someone to diagnose it for sure in order to spend the cash where it needs to be spent. Good luck, just advise...

I think he lives pretty close by the shop anyway and the shop is the best place to service you car.
As Doc said ...
Have him diagnose it for sure in order to spend the cash where it needs to be spent.
Rudy is the expert locally to service our cars I assure you !!!
He is the ONLY one that will ever work on mine..unless I'm far away from home.

Feel better Doc?
Just looking at his funds.. narrow budget..even if he drove down there and back (fuel cost) and they diagnose (??more dollars)..then replacement parts and labor charge..sound like a hundred or less to you?
