Default Highbeam issue

Got a 2004 coupe, Having been stored for over 6 years in my garage and just now pulling it out. I noticed that the highbeams dont turn on, both are new bulbs and tested with them on the low beam socket and both work... They do not work when connected to the highbeam connector at all. Also the switch does not do anything and the highbeam blue light does not come on the dash... anyone have any thoughts? also check the fuses all fine..

Gotta be the multi function switch or the ICM. ICM failures are rare, but that switch assembly has failed a lot recently.
Did you try "Flash to pass"? If that works but the high beam position does NOT work, it's the multifunction switch for sure.

If neither work, it could be either the ICM or MF switch. The service manual gives you pin-outs of both items, altho I'd bet getting to the connectors to measure what is there is going to mean taking the bottom of the dash apart, as in the "Sticky Key" fix.

Both positions do not work, nothing happens. No high beam light, no dash lights.. So I will double check the interior fuses and then see about the switch it self..

Fairly straight forward, I followed a couple guys on youtube absolutely destroying their steering wheel to figure out how to take it apart... The only thing I couldn't find was how to take apart the plastic housing after the removal of the wheel and airbag... Just remember to take pictures of parts before removal and mark the column when everything is pulled apart... You will need to make a few cuts to the zip ties holding the wiring for steering to gain access to clips.. also you will need the whole panel below the footwell to unclip harness for turn signal switch

Don't know much about the one wire that is obviously 'pinched', but if anyone finds a wire like that they should put some electrical tape on it. BTW, aren't our airbags two stage? It only looks like two wires going to that airbag connector (unless they use the grounding system for a third wire?). Maybe the steering wheel airbag is not a two stage then? Anyone?…
