Suggested Troubleshooting steps for stalling
I have owned my 06 Crossfire coupe for about 2 months now (6 speed base coupe with about 39k miles). It has the erratic fan issue which I am trying to address but more importantly it has the stalling issue that I have read a lot about on this forum. Twice the car has stalled on me and would not crank over after it stalls. After it sits a little while it does start back up but the check engine light then stays on for approximately 2-3 days, during which time it starts and runs fine. There are a lot of posts about potential fixes however I am trying to determine what the order should be in trying to diagnose my issue. Can anyone with longer term experience with their Crossfire give me an idea of which troubleshooting steps I should try first and then what to move onto if the initial steps don't work?
Also, from what I have noticed there seems to be a small core group of issues that plague the Crossfire's. If anyone can point me to all the relevant technical posts I would be more than happy to take this information and put together a single comprehensive pdf on diagnosing and fixes all the know issues. That is assuming this has not been done already but I have not found it.
One last note. I want to thank the administrators as well as all the knowledgeable owners who address many of the posts I have read on the forum. It is always great to have "experts" who have been there and done that and are willing to share/help. I understand many of the same issues are addressed over and over, and if you are an expert/admin it can become annoying and frustrating. However take a deep breath and know that your opinions and advice are priceless to some of us. Also you can always just scream "serenity now!" Sometimes that helps.

The two primary causes of the issue you have is the RCM and CPS. Both are recommended to carry spares at all times. Everyone is recommended to replace the RCM, it is plug and play. and send the old one to DJ and have it rebuilt for a spare. Use only a BOSCH CPS as a spare. Is you have a bad CPS the old one should be tossed. They are heat sensitive and many times work when they cool down. The link from EXPARAMEDIC has directions for both of these parts.
Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting in the right area!
IF you mean the HVAC fan, no big deal. If you mean the engine cooling fan, THAT is a clue as to why the car is stalling.
Telling us the CEL comes on without reading the codes and telling us what they are is not going to help.
But the "would not crank over" is a sign of a bad engine control relay in the RCM. Next time, if it won't crank (I am getting so tired of repeating this over and over) just relax the key to "ON" and sit there. If, in 45 seconds, the engine cooling fan is running like a turbine, your RCM is at fault. Put your spare RCM in, and drive home, then send the bad one to DJ for reworking.
If you have no spare RCM, order one today. EVERYONE (except for idiots) should have a spare RCM and spare Crank Sensor in the trunk. IT is as simple as that.

We all learned this years ago, but it has to be repeated for new owners. Even though it is stated in several different threads. Stay patient. It is all good. People appreciate your experience.
Hello Pizza guy. I followed your link above for the RCM. When I put my year and model of my crossfire (06 base coupe) it is telling me it does not fit my car. Do you know if this in fact true? Thanks
It is repeated over and over and over on these forums: DO NOT tell the parts clerk or search engine that you have a Chrysler Crossfire. You have a 2003 Mercedes SLK320. People who try to search Crossfire parts are the people who say, "Parts for those cars are not available."

I sent mine to DJ. HIs fixes last as long as a new one.
