Do you want a Keyless Entry Alert Tone?
just read this to & plan on trying it 1st warm day !!! I need to uncover the baby & take a look !!!! Dreaming of driving her soon !!!! Thanks for the thread great info !!!! Oh yeah the price is right too !!!!
Did this mod tonight! Very COOL!
Thank you! I love this forum and my XF!
FYI, I did not extend the wires, just wrapped the ends around the connectors and used double sided tape to secure the buzzer in the space behind the relay. There is plenty of room behind the relay.
Nice pleasing chirp!
$3.59 plus tax.
Part #273-0059
Although, after testing with hood closed, I may have to mount it outside of the fuse box. My ears are getting old.

Guys, I bought the RadioShack model number 273-0068 (shows up online as 273-068 - link: 80dB Piezo Pulse Buzzer - RadioShack.com) because they didn't have the 059 in stock.
I have the buzzer mounted outside my fuse box because this model doesn't fit inside of the fuse box. It chirps when the lights flash, but it is barely audible from 10 feet away with no ambient noise, and not audible from 3 feet away with ambient noise (i.e. traffic in the background).
I assume something is wrong here? I used small gauge gold wire as the OP did. Could the connections not be good? Perhaps this buzzer just isn't the right part (it says 80db and it is no where near that).
Thanks in advance!

It really is this simple. Um... I'm just "assuming" your lights are flashing when locking... If not then you have another issue involved.

Thanks.
You are correct. Went and bought another buzzer because my chirp was "what was that".. and that is when I discovered.. "dooh"... polarity does make a difference..

How much louder is it when you switch polarity?

Fantastic! I guess I'll have to switch the wires. Ron

Glad all is well.
I thought there was only one unit to pic 273-060. Is there a higher decible one??? Is it sold again at radio shack and installed the same way?? Thanks Ron

Just did your mod..HATED looking to see that the lights flashed on arming! Installed the 065 p/n and thought "no way".. went and bought the 95 decible. Guess what, polarity does matter! It's all good though. 12 bucks later I chirp, and actually like the louder tone. Another 2 cents worth, there is a screw above the fuse box that holds the rubber seal in place for the hood. Back it out about 1 turn, place module on bottom side and tighten screw. Figure facing down will help prevent any moisture problems.
Yep.. LOL..
