Sounds GREAT! A few more details please. Relay spades #85 and 86. With a hint or two, I pretty sure I can figure it out. Where do I find these? On which relay? Thanks.

HINT: look at the picture at the radiator mounting frame, drivers side. see the black plastic cover over the frame hole ? That's where my beeper is mounted, it was too quiet inside or beside the fuse box .....

And one more hint. . that cover you open to get to the relay.. the trim above it with the hood seal.. small screw attaching it..mine sits just under that..back out that screw about 1 1/2 turns and place buzzer with the ear mount for the screw to feed back into..

Tried it 2 time's now.

First time i got the wrong relais, and the right blinker stayed on continues.

Now ordered new relais from Merdeces soldered again, now the left blinking light stays on.

this is really irritating, did exacly how its showed in the diagrams.

Hope someone can help me out on this one.

All I can offer on this one.. mine aren't soldered. I just stripped the leads and fed them through the hole in the relay contacts and pushed the relay back in place.. over a year ago and no issues from it. Not like it's a high amperage buzzer.

Thx for the quick reply, but i found out what the problem was. When i pushed the cap of the relais back on 1 of the wires made contact with something else. Soldered again and now it works fine .

Now i finally thought i got it working, if see a new problem.

When i press the close/open butten the buzzers make's sound, but only my passengerside flashes the blinker lights.. anyone any suggestions?

I bought a new relais from mercedes so i couldn't mess up the existing electronics, soldered on the contacts as showed on this thread. First time i think the buzzerwires made contact with one of the other pins in the relais, this shouldnt be the problem this time.

Maybe i should just go with the Simple wiring altough i'm not a fan of that.

Did u guys use massive of flexible wire? I used Flexable.

Thx for upcomming advice

Just wanted to drop a line and say thank you for a phenomenal forum. I have been a part of a few car forums over the years and this on by far is the best.
This thread is still very much alive just installed the buzzer from radio shack. Went with the -060. It works well enough I would have preferred it a little louder but this will do. Thank you for the DIY section.

This is a great thread. You may even get me to install it.

This is definitely not my area of expertise. However, a number of members has said that the audio is not load enough!?

Can we mount 2 of these units off this relay???

Thanks to all.

Hi, Grant,

Most of those that had volume issues found out that they had mis-wired the speaker, for lack of a better term...

This is what I'm using..the difference between being a buzzer and an element? And it leaves no doubt "did it chirp"..lol.
This one doesn't leave you guessing. You will hear it.

Well I tried a new one with a two tone pitch and it was rated at 105 db. This worked when I applied 12 volts to it, but once it was installed on the relay it wasn’t any good. Sounded as if there was something stuck on the speaker making it sound muffled and crackly. So I tried the 273-075 and it was about the same as the 273-060 I had installed before. Being that I could not tell the difference I decided to leave both of them installed. Although this did not make it any louder per say it did make the pitch just a little deeper and thus made it easier to hear though the hood.

I hear there is an easy way to do that, without cutting wires...

Just did the seat belt chime silencer. Easy to do and effective.
