Do you want a Keyless Entry Alert Tone?
Thanks, I have searched the net and can't find anyone to post to Australia, I partially like the tone of this one but am venturing out to our one and only electronic shop today. Oh the joys of living in a tourist area miles from anywhere and hardly no shops !!!!!

I didn't see that one because I searched for one with the same tone as the original in this post. I wonder what this one sounds like. I just really like the original - not too load and mild tone but thanks anyway. If I can't get one locally I might go for this one.
Hmm.. how can you tell how loud it is? I've actually got a 95DB one on mine.. and put my 65DB on the wife's car. I like mine better.. LOL.
I watched this video on youtube where one is fitted to a Crossfire and it sounds really nice.
Brilliant Mod, I managed to get hold of a buzzer and went for the wrap round the relay contacts option. Have double sided taped my buzzer on outside of fuse box for volume and it works perfectly. One question, does that relay only operate the keyless entry because bit worried that with the wires wrapped round the terminals it might pop out in time. Looking at the lid of the fuse box I don't think it has much room to move but just wondered.
Can anyone post a picture of exactly where the 2 wires mount to the alarm RKE wiring pin 85 and pin 86 to install the Radio Shack chirp install? Also , where exactly is the Remote Keyless Entry Relay ("RKE") located and how is it accessed?
I did this today and now the car locks by itself inside or outside the car? I have the neg going to 86 what else could I have done incorrect? The chirp works when I lock and unlock with fob?
Just took it out and the door locks are not locking!
I liked the chirp but what could have caused the doors and trunk to lock? Glad I kept the windows down the locks would lock with fob inside on seat
Again
Neg to 86
pos to 85
Took out fuse as instructions recommended and it worked fine except the doors would lock 2-3 min after I unlocked them

If you lock the doors with the fob and then unlock them without opening a door, they will re-lock automatically in a few minutes (not sure how long). You must open a door for them to stay unlocked. It has a German mind of its own! I was originally confused by this feature also.
I am not sure what you took out, but if you removed the relay the locks probably won't work. It sounds like you had it wired right if it was chirping?
I believe quite a few cars do this including my wife's Saab, the idea is if you accidentally unlock the car when walking away and don't open any doors it locks it again as an anti theft precaution.
I think that maybe the Crossfire has tricked you.:roll eyes: If you lock the doors with the fob and then unlock them without opening a door, they will re-lock automatically in a few minutes (not sure how long). Check to make sure that no wire that you wrapped around the plug in relay is touching other plug ends in the relay. If the wire is touching more than one plug, it MIGHT power the lock system to re-lock the unlocked doors.
Read my post, I installed and had the same, I read the manual it's supposed to relock after 40 seconds after you press the fob to open the door and I still feel like a dummy
Sorry I meant the owners manual, the installation instructions were awesome and I really like it!
Great add on
Great instructions
Great pics and diagrams
Hey, just installed the radio shack alarm chirp today, took around 45 minutes. The pictures and instructions were perfect. Thank you to everyone who added information. Not sure if the chirp is loud enough because the installation and testing was in the garage. I'm sure it will be fine. Thanks again to everyone who contributed information!!
Anyone know where I can get one of these relays that will post to Australia. I fancy doing this like the picture above instead of just wrapping the wires around the terminals, like I have had for the past few months, but would like to do it on a spare relay - just in case. !!
