Default Headlight removal

I have searched but not found how to remove the entire headlight assembly. I want to pull them to remove a clear coat that seems to been applied by a prior owner and re polish as they are quite faded where the clear coat has fallen off. . Also the headlights are adjusted too low at maximum elevation. I want to examine and adjust any clips or bolts. Btw I have ensured the bulb is seated correctly. This improved the lighting but is still unsatisfactory

You can fight with it to get them off as is, but your best/easiest/quickest option is to remove the front bumper cover, and then access to remove/replace/adjust becomes very easy. Height range is adjustable underneath the headlamp assembly. When you go to get it out, you will see how.

Second this! The 'Service Manual' describes how to remove the front facia to remove them. The service manual also instructs how to remove the headlight assemblies BUT they would not come out no matter how I 'twisted, turned, slid, pulled'. I was FINALLY able to remove them only AFTER removing the facia (bumper cover). Sometimes, even when the service manual is written correctly, how the car is assembled effects whether or not the instructions for a specific task, works. The service manual is in the documents collection. Good luck!

I am doing exactly what you want to do as I write this response.
1. You can refurbish your light lenses without removing the headlight assembly. I used a Maguire restorer kit and seems to work well. 3M has one also. Mask off surrounding area around lenses and follow instructions.
2. Headlight adjustment requires adjusting 2 large nuts located on the bottom of the light assembly. Access is via the inner wheel splash panel. You will need to rotate wheels full left and right for access. Remove or bend plastic splash panel to make adjustments.
3. If you want to remove the headlight assemblies, the bumper needs to be loosened or removed. Go online and google Crossfire Headlight removal. You will find a video describing this process. Once the bumper is loosened the headlights can be easily removed with 4 screws. The 2 large bottom screws on the light assembly are the adjusters. Removing the bumper makes access for adjustment of the lights very simple.
I would recommend removing the bumper which is not difficult but it will make adjusting the lights a snap.

I've had the headlights out several times without any need to remove the bumper cover. Removing the grill is required. I removed one bumper cover bolt that is next to the headlight. Then gently placed a piece of wood behind it gain more access. Also one bolt can be removed thru the side marker opening and/or the fog light flap in the wheel housing.

I removed the front bumper as recommended and found it was quick and easy. 6 bolts and 8 screws if I recall. Thanks so much. Removed and polished headlights and took care of alignment.

Here's a link with several videos but I would mask off a much bigger area around the headlights to prevent damage :
