With the 2007 Coupe essentially detailed & prepped for the Fall ToD GTG at Fontana Dam, I decided to enter a local car show today at an Advance Auto store nearby. $20 entry fee and $5 for 6 door prize tickets. Entries were divided into 2 classes: 1) 1990 & Earlier Old Skool; 2) 1991 and Later Nu Skool. Probably 50-60 cars entered the car show. Trophies were awarded for Top 10 (Old Skool) and Top 5 (Nu Skool) plus Best of Show in both classes. My 2007 Coupe held its own and took home 3rd place in the NU Skool. Placed ahead of a Camaro SS and a brand new 2018 Corvette Gran Sport (guy just bought it last weekend!). A Camaro RS placed 2nd and a Shelby Mustang took 1st. Another Camaro RS took Best of Show.
So felt pretty good that my "dated" Crossfire held its own against some nearly new models. And I won 2 Door Prize drawings - got some Turtle Wax Headlight Cleaner/Polish with a small bottle of 303 Detail Spray & an applicator pad; then won a bottle of Turtle Wax Wash & Wax product. Not bad for an afternoon.
Crossifire is back home & under cover to wait out the impact of IRMA on Monday & Tuesday here in Upstate SC.
Nu Skool Winners:
Best In Show (Blue Camaro RS); 1st Place (Shelby Mustang); 2nd Place (Silver Camaro RS); 3rd Place (My Crossfire); 4th Place (2018 Gran Sport); 5th Place (Red Orange Camaro SS)

Did the two year brake & clutch slave fluid exchange with ATE typ200.
By jacking up the car on all fours, I was able to reach each caliper nipple without having to remove the tires, which shaved some time off this project. Old fluid didn't look too bad, so the next interval may be three years.
Also drained a few ounces of sludge out of my Needswings catch can.
I started my differential change. This should have been done already but I took 3 weeks off to care for my little dog who we had to put to sleep yesterday. Working on the car will be good therapy for me, he was my constant companion for 11 years. I drained the diff, removed the wheels, jacked it up again, ready to remove the knuckles tomorrow.

People who do not have pets are missing out on a lot, I sympathize and can understand your feelings. We had our 16 year old cat euthanized two years ago. Her now 18 year old sister means a lot to us old fogies and it will be a sad time when she goes.
A few days ago I repaired a leak on the rear aluminium valve cover to oil breather cover join. It wasn't leaking much but every now and then I'd get a whiff of burning oil as a collected drip would fall onto the exhaust, annoying. Took a while to clean the mating surfaces, stripping off ALL the old sealant then giving the surfaces a general clean over with wire wool & acetone. I used V-tech high heat grey instant gasket. There are two sets of screws 2 x long steel & 2 x aluminium, didn't torque the aluminium ones up much, as , for this cover I think the steel screws do most of the work. SOooo today I took it out for a test drive, the sealant having had 2 days to cure ( 24 hrs is sufficient ). ANDddd ... great no leak, bone dry ... for the time being. I guess the fix has worked. Happy, so I gave her a wash & cleaned the wheels as she's going in for wheel balancing on Friday ( slight wobble as 70mph ).

98%of the success comes from the prep work and obviously you did a good job 👍
Will be checking mine out,as I have had the same issue lately, sounds like it might be a good place to start an a good fix! Nice
Yeah I thought my main valve covers were leaking but I tackled the small breather covers AKA positive crankcase ventilation valves and that cured my problem no more oil leak.

Thanks, yes they do miss out on a lot. One of my little guys' favorite things was riding in my Crossfire. We would take a hour and a half ride just to get an ice cream for each of us then ride back home. It was a beautiful ride on a little travelled road with a few twists and turns and gorgeous scenery and a stop at a State Park, midway to take care of business. It will be hard to make this trip without him.
Just put the car back together, ready for a test ride. I sure hope that loose spring and shoe was the cause of the noise I had in the rear. See "howling diff" thread. If this didn't fix it, I've got a lot of work ahead of me.
Had a factory recall done today on the drive air bag, then went for a great relaxing drive in the adirondack mts with the top down checking out the changing fall leaves,80 plus degrees beautiful day!
Looks like I'm going to install a new master cylinder this weekend and bleed the entire brake system. Spongy pedal probably tied to leaking seals within the master cylinder.
Summer has come early this year so i took BB (Black Beauty) out for a drive with the top down .
It was a sunny 27c , on cruise 105kph with windows Down , magic.

Reason: summer
WindRestrictor arrived today! It took 10 minutes to unpack it and install.
Nice looking!
I was skeptical that it would make much difference, but it does! Haven't gotten above 60 mph yet with it, but I can tell a big improvement in blocking the air flow from the back. And did I say it's nice looking?!
I really like the look of the stock wheel without the center cap, but finished the way you did with the cap over the center hole.
There was another Forum member selling his 2005 SRT-6 and he had the wheels fixed similarly. Had a M-B cap over the center hole and looked like he had either black lug bolts or black plastic caps over the factory lug bolts. His wheels really looked sharp also!
Looks great James, I really like the window frame painted the car color, may have to go that way as I need to refinish the top rail anyway.
What I did today (yesterday) changed the oil, and flushed the radiator, today is time to pull the cup holder and disconnect the tire pressure light, (pin 2 to 6 thing). Looking for a cup holder solution
