Definitely wasn't cheap, though. I'm actually considering getting the add-on so that I can start my car and control it with my iPhone, but that would be another 400 bucks. Damn my obsession with technology...
Props for the SST!!

The Smart start module is DEFINATELY the way to go! BUT.... $400!?!?!....Take a look on amazon.com DEI Smart Start is under $200. And FYI you don't actually need a two-way remote start as your base system..A one-way system can be tricked during the programming so that it will work with the smart start system as a two-way.... saving you money!

Hmm, I might end up pulling the trigger on that afterall, then. Or a least add it to my list of future mods. After I get my wheels put on next week the next thing I have to do is put on new rotors/brake pads, so it might have to wait until next year.

Is there much work in adding the smart start module to the SST system?

Would that be something that would be "upgradeable" since you'd have to have the remotes anyway?

Adding it to a compatible DEI system is moderately easy if you know your way around 12v.. and if you take it to a reputable shop (DEI Authorized) they shouldn't charge more than $60-$75 for installation

If you need anything, let me know. I know my way around 12v pretty well and a friend is the head installer at Audio Electronics right there on Keystone and 54th (less than a mile from my house).

Once I get everything situated with the insurance company and start really modding her (spring) we should definitely get together and have a beer

My buddies Mike and Joel out at Asylum Autowerks usually end up hooking me up on stuff I can't handle myself. It's nice having friends in the business, isnt it? It's always good when you have people you can trust to work on your car. Hard to let just anyone touch it.

Shoot, no need to wait for spring, beer is good in the fall, too. Plus I just got my days off on the department changed to Friday-Sunday.

To answer your question..YES I Will have a "KIT" that I will put togther for Forum Members that they can use with any remote start and I will be offering remote starts as well. And as RCOMPART pointed out you could just get a DEI556U..But in my experience those tend to fail every once in a while too...And not to mention who really has an extra key? So instead of throwing another $20 out the window for the 556U and a couple hundred for the KEY you'd be ripping apart...I will be making the bypasses with the chipped transponder for $100... The company I am getting the programmer from is the company that makes it for Mercedes/Chrysler/BMW and I have to go through an extensive background check and not to mention a little over 8k for the programmer itself... Which will be money and time saved in the long run.
I know this is a long shot, but, are you still selling the kit you reference?
