Healight Projector Broken?
I am trying to re-aim my passenger side projector, however it only points at the ground, for instance, I can push down on the back part of the bulb and it will face upward (the projector) but once I let go it falls down again. I have tried adjusting with the adjustment **** but it doesn't raise the projector it will only lower... do you think this could be due to the bulb not being seated correctly?

Check your H7 bulb, it should have a flat notch.. this is the bottom of the bulb. There's a place in the headlight housing for this notch to "slide in".. hard to describe.. check out the HID installation guides, the'll help.

He's right the bulb isn't seated in the mount. I have, and a huge portion of this forum have done the same thing at one time or another. Even if you think it looks right, Take it out install again an it should be fine. Changing bulbs on these really sucks!

Ya, lol, even the family mechanic who is quite experienced and good, wouldnt do it, he looked at it and fiddled for a minute or so and then said no thanks, lol. Do you think a I could take it to a regular mechanic and just have them install the bulb(HID)?
i am haveing the same problem....my passenger side headlight wontadjust. i was told to reseat the bulb and that didnt seem to do too much. cause the white adjuster **** on the other side moves the projectorss in and out and then on the passenger side them only move in so it aims lower. and once aimed lower if i turn the **** the oppisite way it dosent seem like to move. the lenses dont move at all. but if i fiddle with the bulb from behind i can aim it if i push down on it....cqan it really be still sitted wrong or. did can it fall off the track
A good indicator of alignment is if the HIGH beam is also pointing too far down. I use a tape measure from the ground and use the cut-off line to compare the relative heights from the ground ~ 2 feet in front of the beam.
If BOTH the HIGH and LOW beams on the passenger side are pointing down, the adjuster screw is backed too far out. (Or both bulbs are installed incorrectly). As for getting it re-threaded, I don't know. I've never gone that far, sorry.

i never tried the high beam on also but id guess it would be the same the bothe projects move at the same time.....but if i pulled up to a driveway door...both headlight should line up about 2.5 feet up? is that what you mean?.....but would the headlights not adjust is the bulb wasnt seated correctly? is there away to tighen the projectors lenses....cause they may be loose?

So.... I FINALLY got my HIDS installed, Im so proud. I dont know why but for some reason I was laying around today and something hit me, to go give it one more whirl. I went to harbor freight, got some tools that I though would help. Mirror tool is absolute must... but within 20 minutes I had both bulbs installed. Yay...except one issue...
My projector is still screwed up. I made Double TRIPLE extra sure that both bulbs are seated correctly, they are both recessed far into the housing, and clipped tight. The tab is facing down. Im 100% sure they are seated correctly.
My driver side projector works perfectly, I can turn the screw in both directions and it will either adjust upward or downward. However, on the passenger side, the light is angled down at a 45 degree angle towards the ground. I can adjust it more downward but it will not adjust any more upward. I can push down on the bulb where the wires come out and the projectors will move upward again, but when I let go they fall back down.
Please anybody know how to fix this?

Luckily, these bulbs operate very cool. when they are on, just unclip the offending bulb and play with it and adjust it running.
I am sure the bulb isn't quite in the socket...
im positive its seated correctly. you can feel the projectors are ore lose on the passenger side, they adjust up and down more easily when I push on the projectors, same exact situation as before when someone else installed the bulbs. I tried reinstalling the bulbs on that side. they are sitting well...
Are you absolutely positive the bulbs are the same (i.e. thickness) as the ones you took out?
Are you absolutely positive that you didn't bend the clips when you took the old ones out?

This has happened to me more than once. In these cases, the replacement bub was not seated properly. The bulb tends to move in the time it takes to engage the spring clip. It is kinda frustrating, but try reinstalling it again. Good Luck.

I reinstalled the bulb and having the same issue. Im 10000000% sure its not how the bulb is seated. Its been like that through several different bulb installs from several different people from me, to local MB Mechanic, to the Chrysler dealer...etc...
However, I noticed today when I was standing a ways back from the car with the lights on, that the projector that im having issues with (passenger side) seemed to be pointed off the the left (when facing the car) instead of straight. I remember there being a part in the user manual, the paper one, about a way to change the alignment of the projector left to right. It showed a picture of a little square deal behind the headlight assembly. I managed to find it, but coiuldnt figure out how to adjust it. Do you think this might be affecting it? if so could someone explain how to adjust the projector as far as the horizontal alignment goes?
