Life is short,I missed out on several things that I can never go back to- work is always in the future ,but memories are in the past, enjoy today for there may never be another tomorrow, and someone will allways fill your shoe`s when you are gone to an other place
(Sorry if that`s to deep)

I like and follow Dave's advice. When im at work, I work hard and get done what I need to get done. When its time for a vacation, i take it. I leave work behind, projects completed or not. I forget about work and concentrate on vacationing. I always give my boss at least several weeks notice of my intent to take a vacation so he can be aware and make any necessary personnel changes to keep the workflow going if there are any conflicts. In my field it is very easy to get burnt out and we all realize there are times where you just HAVE to get away for a bit. Thats all there is to it.

Looking forward to this!

Just looking @ a map , I may pull the plug early and head for Fallon NV,on hwy 50" The Loneleyst road in the World" (ok i before e)-I have rooms booked on my return journy in Jackpot and Kalispell Montana, that can be Cancelled. An over night in Ely could work for people going North ,west and South. Check out National Geographical and add this section to CAA 3

Oh hell.
As defense cuts loom, rumors persist | The Sierra Vista Herald
Was notified last week that as of 30 Sept I will need to find a new job.
Unless I can find one I'm going to have back out to conserve $$$ to live on until I do find one. Was hoping to make it in the turbo'd Crossfire but doesn't look like that's going to happen either.
Sometimes things just suk!
Sorry folks!

You never know DJ .. just try to stay positive.. Might end up opening the door to one of the best Jobs you've had. Pushed carts at Goodwill, Horse ranch hand.. cement worker.. that was my "career" field after 9-1-1. Over 200 applicants per "engineering - drafting" position was about all I heard. Now I'm with a company that is very low pressure and pretty much a cake walk.

My wife and I did Route 50 once. It is not a bad drive to do at least once. A prettier drive to Fallon is to actually take I80 and then cut over to Fallon through Fernley. You drive by a river for a long ways on a nice curvy mountain road. Really pretty drive. Bonus is that it is not uncommon for everyone to be driving 85-90 on that stretch of road. I would not advise it however if you do not know what stretches of land are Indian Reservation. They pop you every time.

Sorry to hear that man! Always a pain to have to shop around for a job. I feel bad that I am barley going to be able to participate due to having picked up a second job. But I need to be able to pay my wives bills when she goes to Tulane next year for her Masters as well as our current house bills... Money... it is such a pain sometimes....

11 rooms have been reserved. I am going to be making my order for the CAA#3 metal reusable water bottles next week so they will arrive in time. If you are planning to attend but have not reserved a room give me a heads up so that I can make sure to have a bottle for you!

Frank,

Could you post a list of the confirmed roomers by name and originating location?

I am coming only from Elko an the 20th but could maybe hook up with somebody on I80 or US50 if they are coming across northern NV that day.

Thanks,

Roger
