Chrysler to Replace '05 Convertible Tops Under TSB - YAHOO!!
I'm having this issue on my 2006 base model (lower corners of the rear window are separating). Have any 2006 owners ever attempted to get a warranty replacement? I'm guessing my odds are pretty slim.
Hi, I just dropped my 05 off for inspection today. I am assuming, if they do the right thing, they will replace the top. I've heard tell of some 2006 and 2007 with the problem that they have repaired. You have to keep on them. I was turned down by their robots at least 3 times. As a matter of fact, the same day they told me to take the car to the dealer they had sent me a turndown earlier in the day/ There is no rhyme or reason why they are not addressing a serious problem that is ultimately going to end up at their doorstep. I have helped another person with your situation and sent her all my e mails to Chrysler. I am a lawyer but have not practiced but I think some of thee hot buttons I pushed with them might have gotten the deal done. I would be happy to help you, but you need to show me some kind of proof you are a crossfire owner. I know there are trolls in here. Send me your e mail address if you want the package. Also, feel secure in the fact that your glass will make the circuit and be come detached all the way round
Our crossfire srt-6 has been garage kept until two days ago because of an issue with my Jeep top. My wife got ready to leave for work this morning and came back in the house hysterical. You guessed it... The back windshield was about 3/4 separated, hanging from the top. I called Chrysler and the lady I talked to said it looked like I should be covered, but it has to be looked at by a case mgr. I'm now holding my breath. I'm glad to have found this thread, but worried about getting screwed over now. I've put two beach towels in the back window to hold it until I can get it to the dealership in a couple of hours.
Well, I was assigned a rep that was dealing with my case that said everything looked okay, but for some reason it seemed I was not qualifying for the X31 recall. He stated he would investigate and get back with me. Yesterday, I received a message from him stating the reason I didn't qualify was because the car was originally sold in Michigan, even though I purchased in Tennessee and live in Alabama. He did say he was going to try to get "some" assistance, but think I am going to pursue legal action if it is not replaced in full.

Hello,
I have just hung up with Robert at the NHTSA. I spent the better part of an hour of the phone with him. He was very accommodating and acknowledged that they were at war with Chrysler over many things., He was very thorough with all questions he asked me. And answered all of the questions I had with as much time as it took.
His idea would be to get a list of owners, vin numbers, location and any correspondence between you and Chrysler. You can call hiim at 888 327 4236. He will take the report over the phone. I suppose it can be done individually but perhaps a filing en masse might be more impressive. If there are sufficient amount of cars involved, he indicated that they would issue a recall and take Chrysler to court. They do not seem very efond of Chrysler.
I would propose compiling a list of owners, year, model of vehicle and vin number. Where the car was purchased, Where it resides. As many of you who have had your cars repaired please what state and what you went through.
Any owners that received special treatment by having their tops replaced and warranty extended, even though the cars were delivered outside the 8 golden states. These cars are very important as they indicate discrimination on Chrysler's part.
If you can, enclose a photo of the obvious. If you are able to, file the complaint on the phone, you may tell him everything, You will be able to add any other documents at that time
Still need to know how many cars involved. I am trying to set up a shoot with an investigative reporter in the Palm Springs area. Don't have date yet, but would like as many affected cars here as possible.

I just filed a complaint with the NHTSA as well. The customer care person from Chrysler that I have been dealing with has been very good to deal with and has essentially agreed with all of my rants on the issue. He said even though I am not covered that he is trying to get "some assistance" in resolving the problem, but I'm not holding my breath. I had a lot of things to say to him but the biggest point I wanted to make was...does Chrysler really expect us to believe that as these cars were being produced on the assembly line that they had two distinct adhesives they were applying based on what states they were going to be sold? Really?
Looked at the site safecar.gov and right now there looks to be about 150 complaints filed with the NHTSA. Mine is supposed to be up within 48 hours. I believe it's only a matter of time before this is a nationwide recall. If you have had this problem, please call the NHTSA @ 888-327-4236 or file at safecar.org.
One issue I see at safecar.gov is that there are three different listings where the complaints are filed; under the 2005 Crossfire, the 2005 Crossfire Convertible, and the 2005 Crossfire Roadster. When all complaints are added up, it's around 150.

I wonder how far the recall will go? I am told I am the 4th owner of our car, and now I have 126,000 miles...will any of that matter?
To all who are suffering from Chrysler's new and improved approach to customer service.
I have been contacted today by a local Los Angeles investigative reporter's assistant. I had sent them an inquiry some days ago. They seem to like the story and may very well target Chrysler for their reprehensible action or failure to act.
I AM STRONGLY URGING ALL OF YOU TO E MAIL DAVID GOLDSTEIN AT DAVID GOLDSTEIN@DGOLDSTEINKCBS.COM. I KNOW THIS IS TIME CONSUMING, BUT IF HE IS WILLING TO PUT IT ON LOCAL NEWS, MAYBE NATIONAL NEWS PICKS IT UP.
I WILL KEEP YOU ALL UP TO DATE REGARDING THE TAPING, SHOULD THERE BE ONE. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AT LEAST 10-12 ROADSTERS PRESENT WITH A FEW THAT HAVE BEEN REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER. SHE SAID SHE'D GET BACK TO ME IN A FEW DAYS. SO START STUFFING HIS BOX AS WELL AS NHTSA'S COMPLAINT BOX.
If we go down, at least we go down swinging.
