Chrysler to Replace '05 Convertible Tops Under TSB - YAHOO!!
Hope it helps! Wife had a training class today and spotted an Aero Blue ragtop on her way home.. she was dead set on the Red with Vanilla interior - but after today and me mentioning "those come with vanilla too".. she's grinning...
So I may be in line before long to deal with this...
Wished we would have had the money on hand when that red one was for sale in Georgia! I haven't seen ONE since it..

I have an '05 SRT Roadster, and discovered that the back glass is falling out last week; called Chrysler and was promptly denied. I live in VA, bought the car in MD, have ~34K on it, and it has been garage kept for the past 4.5 years, yet I was denied.
RIP Chrysler - I'll never buy another one of your products.

Let them know you have plenty of people to testify "they have acknowledged the defect" and repaired it along with plenty dealing with trying to get a repair.

I have a 2005 convert bought new at Chris Meyer Chrysler, how much trouble did you have getting your top replacement done ????

I had two low clerks turn me down. Then I asked for a supervisor who said the cars were not climate tested in California. All cars are climate tested in California. I bet Mercedes did the testing. There is probably a boatload of cars ih California. Called a lemon law attorney and expect to hear back today. Would appreciate any documentation you might have an uphill battle
As a new 05 crossfire roadster owner let me add my 2 cents worth on this topic. I called Chrysler customer assist to check recall status (and get any other info I could), the day before I purchased my SRT-6 and was told that there were no outstanding recalls and that I had an extended warranty on rear glass adhesion in the top that is good to 100,000 miles regardless of the cars age. I thought that statement was absurd so I asked her again and she clearly stated that if I had any issue with the rear glass in the convertible top it would be covered under an extended warranty until the odometer reached 100,000 miles. My car was originally put in service in Florida, Was transferred to North Carolina and I am the 3rd registered owner of the car at 72,000 miles. This statement had a big impact on my buying decision, I hope it's not more smoke and mirrors from Chrysler, I sweated out the 2.7 V6 engine sludge nightmare with the Sebring ragtops a few years back and ultimately dumped the car out of fear....
Just to add to the confusion
Just to add to the confusion
If I have an issue I will, fortunately I am not having a problem at this time. I wanted to chime in with what Chrysler told me while I was researching my purchase. Hopefully if I experience this issue Chrysler spent do a 180 on me. Good luck to everyone having to fight this battle.
Well the Xfire is in the shop to get another top on her. I found a hole in the one they just installed so they ordered me another one at no cost to me. Had to rent a car this time. $34 dollars a day. They kept the car for three days last time, kept breaking a wire. I think it was the one to the power roof. Hell maybe this one wont have a hole. But I tell ya what I haven't had a bad experience except the rental. But all in all they are fixing the top. I hope they are done in one day instead of three.....
Will let you all know how it looks.

Anybody out there find something useful to replace the badges on the car and wheels so nobody thinks its a chrysler

After being told sorry your car wasn't shipped to one of the selected 13 states the first time around,
I finally got things resolved and a new top was installed yesterday (Monday). The Rep. for Chrysler was actually very pleasant even after I voiced my feelings about this being flat out wrong. I explained over and over again that we live in Louisiana, we purchased the car in Philly because No Dealers in Louisiana had a srt-6 available. I gave proof that the car was originally titled in Louisiana and it's been a low mileage 36000 garage queen since new and they offered me a new top minus a fee. I'm not happy with having to pay anything but it was allot less than a new top.
I was also told that if things change with Chrysler's policy on the top replacements I could get the payment back.
BTW the top looks exactly the same as the old one, hopefully they are using a different adhesive.
Thanks everyone for the advice and help.
