You should contact chrysler and ask them why. I bet they dont know anything about the copay.

I suspect the dealer won't see a penny of it, but the 'Service Manager' will have that nice flat screen on sale at Costco for the upcoming football season.

Be grateful. The top is a $3000 fiix/ I wish I could get the same deal but Chrysler has dug in on me and stated under no circumstances were they going to pay. I went to the dealer where the car was sold and was given the same bullshit. As a matter of fact, the service manager said to me that he didnt want to have to be rude to me so I better shut my mouth about it. Customer service at it's best.

Well some good news for me, I called Chrysler and was told that my 05 was covered under the extended warranty and that I should take it to the nearest Chrysler dealership for inspection and that if they determined it is the the lamination problem that it would either be repaired or replaced. I did ask her if you could tell me where the car was delivered to in the US and she said she could not because she did not have that information but she was kind enough to email me the build sheet for the car. so looks like I'm going to be making a trip to the dealership, unfortunately I forgot to ask her about the inspection fee I think I will call them back and ask. keeping my fingers crossed and hope everything works out.

Ted, give it a rest. No such thing exists and you are just torturing those of us who have been screwed. You apparently work for Chrysler and this is how you get your jollies. If you don't have uncontravertible truth, shut up.

Well I spoke to the dealer today.. which forward me over to the upholstery shop and they informed me that the rear window will be repaired for no cost. He explained that he will remove the top this afternoon and clean the surface of the window and top. Then he will use some new thing that will bond the top permanently to the window. Something about the same type of material that is used to secure the front windshields in car/trucks . He also said that this new technique is a add on to new tops that are being replace for a extra $200 charge. He guarantees the repair for as long as the car is registered. Anyways.. back to the repair.. once he removes and cleans everything up he will apply the "glue" and put it in a "press" for 36 to 48 hours to cure. Once its fully cure it will be reinstalled and ready for pick up. He also informed me that in the current state... my top should last another 2 to 3 yrs until it needs to be replaced. He quoted me a price of $1700 for a new top installed. Hopefully its all good and I can put this behind me and start enjoying the car again.

This was included in a letter to me from Chrysler. Obviously this guy needs to get some remedial english. They will do nothing further for me. They will not let me speak to anyone in management. I have been sent to the dealer by Chrysler only to be told that they won't do anything. The service manager who had said he would check with the warranty department never returned my calls. When I finally got him on the phone, he said that he ran it all the way and they would do nothing. He further said that if I discussed anything further regarding the top with him, he didn't want to be rude but would have to be.

After thoroughly reviewing your request and the files on this matter, I
respectfully concur with the decision rendered previously by myself.

Dear Teddy, you have yet to supply a new TSB or NHTSA number. We are not fools. Supersedes means in lieu of a prior matter. You have offered no proof of said supersession of any of the previous orders. Dealers have no authority to order replacement tops. That comes from headquarters. If dealers had the power, they would replace the tops no matter where they were situated. The service manager at my dealer was kind of upset to lose the business. So. So much for the dealers and so much for your new order that contains no order number. And yes, I do have the right to tell you to shut up. You are disseminating information that is untrue. And yes, I am hot stuff. This matter is only going to be decided in court. I plan on taking my case to court and try to get a judgment against them in equity that will order them to repair all across the board. If I am successful then it will be res judicata (look it up) and everyone would be able to use my victory to force Chrysler. So now, after you are through shutting up, see if you can produce something positive to help our group

This thread only confirms my suspicion that it is better to own a Crossfire coupe.

You are probably right. But I checked ebay today and saw some confirmed sales of roadsters in the $15k range. I think the car has bottomed out and is clearly and enthusiasts car that will only get better in the future. I talked with NHTSA the day before Ted filed his post. I filed another complaint and she looked up everything pertaining to the problem and found nothing other than the service advisory which is nothing. There was a recall for the tire pressure sensor. Mine does not work. My vin number did not qualify. Chrysler is bullshit.

Just so you know the T S B that I posted was what was sent to me from a dealership, I am having the same problem you are having. My glass fell out and I have been told by Chrysler that I live in the wrong state, the car does not have an extended warranty and that my car has restrictions on the title. I thought that when I found this site that I would find some help but all I am getting is grief from some of the members. I guess that I will have to move on to some other sites that will believe what I have to say and not doubt what I post.
