Mr Michaels - you are the one that asked for a copy of rev A which Mr Hammond supplied and all you did was dump on him. I think I would expect an apology if I was him not abuse which is not required on this forum. If I got blasted like that in my first few posts I would also look for another forum. Take a chill pill and please be decent - it is not any member of the forums fault that Chrysler doesn't want to play with you. And by the service managers response it sounds like you were not playing very nice with him either.
Life is short to be miserable.

Thank you for the response that you have given. I was hoping that everyone on here was not going to react like Mr. Michaels to my post. I do not need an apology because I just consider the source when I get that kind of response. Again I say thank you

First of all, you know nothing about me or my efforts to resolve this issue not only for myself but other members. When someone comes on the scene spouting bullshit, I call it like I see it. All it does is make other members repeat all of their actions over and over again. Chrysler does not want to play with anyone other than the designate owners in the golden states. Chrysler wants us to play with ourselves while they continue to ignore a serious safety hazard. I doubt NHTSA has the ***** to force a recall. There are probably thousands of cars involved outside of the golden states. By the way, I was playing nice with the service manager. He had told me he was going to run it up to their court of last resort and get back to me. He did not. I called to ask him about it and then he went into this crap of not wanting to be rude. Well selling a vehicle that has a good chunk of glass coming out of it and pretending it's alright is pretty rude. If you go by a Chrysler dealer, you will encounter low morale, a bunch of people wandering around aimlessly. It's from top to bottom. Sergio should dump Chrysler and beef up the FIAT brand

The person you refer to has all of 50 posts here and does not represent this forum at all. This individual obviously has some glitches in his personality, put him on ignore and hang around!

Chrysler indeed has dropped the ball, I don't see how they can base a warranty on where the car was delivered. I have owned two roadsters and have two letters at home telling me specifically that my cars are covered for 10 years and 100,000 miles, the letters were sent to me without my even trying to get a new top, both arrived within three months of my purchase of either car - USED.

My first car was imported thru Brunswick, GA and sold in Gainesville, GA. My current car was in Arizona, but I bought it from the second owner, who had moved from Oregon. I never ran the vin to see where it was imported at, I THINK I have the window sticker, it's time (for curiosity's sake, anyway) to see if I can find out where it was imported at and where it was first sold.

But I STILL don't see how Chrysler could limit a warranty based on where the car was sold first. It SEEMS to be to hinge on the dealer you work with. I say that based on reading, for four years, the posts on this forum.

That has to be the most asinine thing I've read in some time. It DOES **** me off that Chrysler picks and chooses which car is under warranty, they really don't deserve our business. How 'bout explaining to your customer why you pick and choose who is under warranty?

Words fail me at this point.

My back window is nearly completely separated now. I called Chrysler 8 months ago and was declined due to the car being purchased in PA. It's spent most of it's life here in NC, a state that is covered. I'm awaiting a response from Chrysler. My car looks so bad with all the duct tape and towels propping the back window up.. Tried to glue it back in but that only lasted a week.

And once you use duct tape, getting the sticky-stuff off the top is nearly impossible.

I STILL think it has something to do with what dealer you visit. It just seems that way to me, people have posted in these threads in the last few weeks of dealers that were little or no problem to deal with.

Again, I may be alll wrong here...

I don't know for sure but I think that it is corporate (Chrysler Group, LLC), that is to blame for THEIR Exclusion of 41 States in the United States from THEIR Special Extended Warranty covering 2005 year Roadsters for 10 Years or 100,000 Miles!?! (What The F#@$ ?) I wrote them in Auburn Hills twice in the last 2 months and STILL no reply! This was after a really crappy "goodwill" offer after weeks over the phone. I did receive an e-mail reply listing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Tennessee, & Texas as covered States in the United States. I filed a complaint with the NHTSB, and with the Federal Trade Commission, FTC.gov, the latter concerning the arbitrary discrimination of THEIR Special Extended Warranty, "X31". I believe that they CANNOT legally justify THEIR Warranty limitations based upon any State borderlines! I believe that most 05's & perhaps later model years WILL have the same manufacturing defect. I've noticed that the aftermarket suppliers will warranty the window bond for the lifetime of the purchaser.
If anyone would "pm" me, I would sure appreciate a copy of the Extended Warranty Letter. Thank you!

Darn, let's out those of us that do not have the extended warranty. At least Chrysler is now recognizing the problem. And, it makes it easier to get covered by insurance policy. Those of you with a 2005, and extended warranty-- inspect your rear glass and if you have the problem take advantage of this.

Thumbs up Re: Chrysler to Replace '05 Convertible Tops Under TSB - YAHOO!!

I am new to this forum and thanks to all the great information regarding the 2005 rear window issue. I am happy to report that my 2005 is in the shop as of yesterday getting new top installed. All I had to do was pull into Landmark Chrysler, they took pictures and sent the info to Chrysler and within two hours I received a call that the warranty replacement had been approved. Cost to me 0 dollars, I was shocked I'd expected a huge battle. If you live in GA I highly recommend you go to Landmark for this issue.

Thanks to all you information and help. This is an awesome site!!!!

Anyone know a good shop in Nashville Tennessee that can re-glue my window in my 2005 Roadster?

JUST TIRED AND FRUSTRATED!

Called multiple shops this morning and the almost laughed when I asked them if they could fix my rear window on my 2005 roadster!

So I went out picked up some 3M and grinned the old glue off, set the window and used rolls of paper towels to keep pressure on the window as the glue dried, I did buy the suction cup it did not work.

I then went redneck and picked up some black duck tap after glue dried I taped the inside just to help keep the weight of the window from coming back out, I know this is not a perm fix but until I can recoup all the $$$ I have invested in the last month I will have to buy a new top, any recommendation
S on who to purchase from?

Sad the dealer would not warrant it, I hear so many of you getting new tops it drives me nuts
