Multi Tool location
Like I said earlier, you need a 5mm hex wrench to release the rear window bow lock, then a 10mm thin open end wrench to release the tonneau cover.
Thanks again. Yep, guess whats NOT there. Guess I'll put out the HELP message to see if anyone local has one so I can get this done. Seen a few in the area, maybe luck will be on my side!

I did just fine with the 10mm open end wrench - that's all it is, plus a long screwdriver.
See thread https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...gency-key.html
It has a part number and a picture.

Well, after 1.5 hours and a cutting disc, some filing, and a couple of coats of Perma-Blue gun blueing, its all done! Not bad if I do say so, just hope the 10mm cut is ok. If not, nothing a file can't fine tune! Thanks Dad for all the time and skills you taught me!
I found mine wedged between the windshield and dashboard on the drivers side. Took me 2 months to find out it was there...always thought it was a reflection from my windshield wiper lol.
Amysxfire, congrats on making your own tool! Why are you having to use it?
For future reference, Mercedes sells a tool for the W208 CLK-Class that should work very well for the Crossfire: p/n 2088990080. Dealer price ~$20. It looks much like the Crossfire tool with the angled, thin 10-mm wrench at one end, BUT it also has the needed 6-mm hex wrench aka Allen wrench at the other end. Thus, this tool can be used conveniently for both tonneau cover lock and rear bow lock.
Instead of a 6-mm Allen wrench, a T40 star wrench will work on the rear bow lock, as well. Turn clockwise to unlock manually.

From http://www.jbtoolsales.com/ you can get the 10mm wrench and the 5mm hex for less than $10 shipped.
From Automotive Tools for Sale | Best Hand Tools | Auto Tools Online you can get the 10mm wrench and the 5mm hex for less than $10 shipped.
Also, please double check - the rear bow lock should require a 6-mm hex wrench.

You sir, are correct : it is 6 mm, NOT 5 mm hex wrench for the bow lock as I previously posted.
I used an old Chinese 10 mm open end for the tonneau lock until I got the top tool from another member.
It was a tight fit, but it did work OK for locking and unlocking.

ala_xfire, thanks for clarifying that.
Below is a photo of a rear bow lock to clarify how manual locking/unlocking works.
Everyone, please remember that the hydraulic system is not that difficult to fix if you run into trouble. The original seals in the seven hydraulic cylinders of the Crossfire roadster top have a limited life, but they can be upgraded by Top Hydraulics to last decades longer. The design life of the original seals is ten years.
Every owner of a modern convertible or roadster will eventually have to go through cylinder replacement or upgrade if they keep the car long enough. Cylinder replacement is not really an option on Crossfires, with the parts not being made any more. Upgrades from Top Hydraulics are actually cheaper than new parts would have been, anyway. We have shipped tens of thousands of similar upgrades already for multiple brands - it's routine for us...
Once you see the first cylinder leaking (or notice the hydraulic fluid level being low in the reservoir, which indicates a hydraulic fluid leak), the others will not take long to follow. They all use the same seal material, and its decay is a function of time, temperature, and contamination in the fluid. Removal and re-installation of the cylinders is not very difficult. We are now having more and more customers sending us their full sets of cylinders for upgrade, so that they will not have to worry about it any more and have the car down only once.

Day late and a dollar short here but, I found mine in the pouch on the bulkhead between the seats. It was at the bottom flat against the wall so I couldn't tell it was there until I stuffed my hand all the way down inside looking for a paper I had put in there. Mine now resides in the glove box where it belongs.

That is also where I found mine...in the pouch. Blubird did not have one, so we bought one on eBay. Wasn't much and we keep them in the pouch.

Does anyone know where may I find a 10 mm open thin wrench to open the tonneau cover in order to manualy close the top?
I left mine in the trunk which is locked /will not open? I live in St Louis, 2006 convertible
Thank you!

Amazon too, search ultra thin 10 mm bike wrenches.
They might be a lot easier to locate if you guys would finally join the world and use the metric system.
There are threads devoted to explaining how this is done and starts with the removal of a license plate light and pushing the latch inside the trunk lid. Easy peasy.
