Any idea how long this will take after they give it the green light? Not trying to make any waves but this was something I was planning on using in these V8 conversions and with the second build being in progress, I was hoping these would be done in the next month and a half as a few weeks ago, I talked with Devin and he made it sound like they were only about two months out.

This is Krazy....holding on a Circlip?!? Call me Krzy, ha! but at this point they could have had a machine shop fab them up and got the whole thing moving along and collected our $$$$ and called it a day by now! Seriously, they make specialized LSDs for cars..........
.......still standing by.....just wanted to Bit c h a bit.
I have wanted a LSD for this car since day 1, and not a PG, a true LSD, so I am still waiting.

rudy the timeline is 5 weeks for the prototype and then 30 to 90 days for the production run
I'd really like to have this for the entire 2011 season. But it doesn't matter since I don't know what I'm missing. I also wish we could some how make them feel a little heat so they'd get on with it.

bob you should be fine even if you dont get in on this buy as dana said they would be building between 30 and 50 units (post 289).
monday is a new week and ill call dana and try to convince him to get this rolling. IF (and thats a big if) they do build for the crossfires and not the slk32 we will need someone close to the unitrax shop with a car to do the test fit. the initial car was scsponger who has a slk32. anybody close? (mr. six?)

I'm in Northern Ca, about 7hrs from their shop. I'd be willing to be the back up test fit car if no one else can do it.

I spoke to Devin today and it seems that the delay also has something to do with Autotech, apparently they need to give the okay for the deposits to be cleared, I dont blame Devin for not beggining the project without the deposit's clearing, imagine they put work in and the deposits dont clear.
And of course the other delay is the output shaft difference between the SLK32/SRT-6...Now what has me confused is that I thought the WHOLE driveline of the SRT-6 is identical to the SLK32 e.g. engine, tranny, suspension, diff etc etc...if our output shafts are different to the SLK32 which model did they come from?

The spline is the same between the SLK stub axle and the RT half shaft. The only difference is that the SLK doesn't use a snap-ring to hold the axle in, it uses a c-clip that you have to insert with the diff open. I originally thought that the SLK could just use the snap-ring from the SRT, but the grove is different.
Dana assured me that they are diligently working a solution and got the old "we'll know in the next couple days" answer. They basically are going to put an off-the-shelf snap-ring on it with a spacer that they make in-house.
Several folks have called both Devin and Dana. The hold-up is at Autotech (Wavetrac mfg). Once they are happy with the design, Devin will process the deposits.
BTW, He want's me to bump the list of people here to what he has. Unfortunately, he sent me a list of people's REAL names, so I need to match them up with screen names. I guess the 25 that are signed up could PM me with thier real name so I can check you off (unless someone has an easier way).

I've been following this but. Can anyne please tell me the total price for this unit after they decide that it's going to be made? What is the group-buy purchase price?
Here you are sir, from the first page
"Cost: apx. $1100 (got a group deal discount) - Will require 50% deposit"

Buggin,
I called Devin a week after I dropped off and had him put me back on the list.... am I still #14??
I decided that since I only have the one now, I need this LONG TERM solution to strengthen the rear end... (and it wont hurt if I happen to go to the track on occasion)

Gentlemen, I emailed the following company about the c-clips, but it might be better if those doing the build contact them. They don't sell direct to the public, but they build most of the rear ends for drag racing. Here's the info... Moser Engineering, 102 Performance DR., Portland IN, 47371 or: info@MoserEngineering.com .....if they can't help, I don't know who can. Check out their website www.moserengineering.com .......
