yes sir, you can beef up one part only to break another....I hope this isn't the case...but as for me...all my cars to date, that were anything of performance minded, had limited slip rearends. I really didn't like the fact the XF's didn't, and am glad Buggin did his homework, and had someone willing to work with us. I really can't wait to get them installed....just hoping Devin is open to helping us do just that...

 

I too was very surprised to learn we had an open diff.. I didn't really study all the spec.'s and just assumed it had an lsd. Not that I wouldn't have bought it if I knew about this because it was originally just going to be a weekender vehicle for the wife and I. Never thought I'd be Autocrossing w/ it. I look forward to everyone's results w/ this, and hope it's good for a few tenths of a second or more for all of you who drag or autocross. Kudos to all that made this happen. I just hope to get an opportunity at getting one of these. Hope the installs go smoothly for you.

 

I'm installing a new driveshaft carrier bearing/mount and flex coupling at the same time. Of course my car is almost 10-yrs old...

 

BTW, this is where I get my OEM replacement parts from: OE Discount Parts. They have stuff that the dealer says can't be bought seperately (ie: ring & pinion), and at better prices...

some parts were picked up on the 9th, they willl build a few of them for fit,, then as the parts are are ready ,, they will be picking up the rest over the next few weeks building them and shipping, and yes you will receive a call or email as per the list, by the end of June you should ( I say should ) know where your unit is,. jim

I guess I can expect mine before Christmas after all. I think this is the last time I buy something that is not on the shelf already. I sure hope the Wavetrac is worth the __________ I feel we've been subjected too. If it's incredible, all will be forgiven.

Wavetrac got 5 units on the 8 of June,, our list may not be the same list as to what they have,,their list is as the doposit was taken your name went on their list,, maybe just as they made calls for the deposit there was no answer so they went to the next person, this is just my guess,, they will not release their list do to customer relations privacy .. I do know they picked up 5 units and will ship those 5 this week and at the end of this week they will pick up every how many are ready ( could be 5 could be 8 or 10 ) and will build and get those ready to ship so within this month or early July you should get you phone call. i was just told that as Unitrax has them ready for Devin to pick up, he would do so. he can build ten in one day, if he has the parts, so here they come be ready, jim

I assume that they are contacting everyone BEFORE they ship, right? Because I'm going to ship my diff to them for them to do the install. So I don't want them to ship me the parts, just so I can ship them back.

 

Hmm... well I know I didnt get a phone call today but oh well.

 

He called me at 1030 this morning and said if I wanted it shipped today I could have it sent out. Paid the remainder of the bill plus shipping.

 

Steve, I sent Devin an e-mail to let him know you don't have the stub axles in the new car. Mine, as well as any other SLKs w/ stub shafts are on-hold awaiting the circlips for final test fitment in my unit that is there. Autotech didn't provided them with the Wavetrac units, so Devin had to order them separately last week.

I'm gonna bump my list again and send him what I have to see if there is an issue with the order of people. The only person that might have been moved up, was Jim, since he supplied the rest of the materials for R&D.

Just got off the phone with Devin,, he is going to go as good as he can ,using our list,, as his list is in a different order,

If you plan to send your diff. to Devin for him to install,, please send me your handle,real name and your phone number,, i will comprise them and send to Devin so he can call you when it is time to send your diff to him, this will minimize your down time.

All the units should be ready to mail within the next 10 to 15 days + or- a few days, Devin got a call from Dana that all the first run units would be ready by the end of next week (June 24) then give Devin a few days to build them and they are ready to ship or install into your diff. (above) jim
