Default Beeping Alarm over 80 mph

I just finished up a slew of mods on my SRT. Installed 65mm Pulley, PSK, Catch Can, Steering Stabilizer, new headliner, rear adjustable cambers, slotted and drilled rotors and ceramic brakes all around, renewed headlight lens and a new Bosch 10 IC pump. Get in her and nail the gas and SHAZAM! She runs like a raped ape on steroids.
My only quark is that as I fly past 80 mph, a beeping alarm goes off and continues until I lower the speed back down to 80. The only other miff I've had is that the TPMS light has always stayed on since I bought her. Comes on at startup and stays steadily lit, not blinking. Tire pressures have stayed spot on. Would this have anything to do with the alarm I'm getting?

There is an audible alert as well as the visual one, I have never heard the alarm but I have seen the light. When and why the audible one is sounded I do not know. The Owners Manual says to see the dealer in your situation.

Lots of interesting stuff in that Owners Manual we should all read it more. LOL

Congrats on the raped ape syndrome, I am so jealous! About the alarm, IF it is the TMPS alarm triggering it why don't you do the TPMS bypass posted in the forum, it involves the 6 pin connector above the mirror (under the light/garage opener panels) I think... Please look it up and bypass your tmps, it would at the least get rid of the annoying lit lamp. Also, IF YOU DO THE MOD, PLEASE INCLUDE THE MOD IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL and post a piece of paper at the module/connector for anyone in the future so they can correct it when and if they are a current owner.

maybe high oil level warning. i know i had overfilled my car a bit once and it seemed to come on while pushing the car harder than normal. i believe a small icon comes on the odometer readout. I do remember an audible warning with it as well, although i think it was only a couple beeps initially. take it easy on the car and the icon would go away in 15 seconds or so. has not come on since my last oil change this past spring.

Your beeping over 75 mph is usually accidently turned on after your car is in for service & had a DRBIII hooked into the system. It falls under the (customer preference) portion of the DRBIII & is either on or turned off by the tech. Theres no speed choice avail. other than on at 75 mph or not on at all. The only way to remove your beep is to have a DRBIII hooked up again & the choice turned off. Simple procedure but costly if you have to take it to someone who has this tool. We live in diff. parts of the country or I would be glad to turn it off for you. Hope this helps.

I am having this beeping issue also I don't have the set but I have the convertible if I drop my top it will beep for about 15 seconds and if the drive is interrupted it starts all over I hit 80 and it beeps like crazy. What setting is it that I can change on the computer.

What is "the set"?
Now, about the convertible top beep for 15 seconds - this means the top controller does not think you finished the cycle. THis is very likely due to a flaky sensor on one of the cylinders in the top system, very likely the tonneau latch cylinder.

As to the "over 80" beep: Is your car an SRT6?
If it is, then the answer is post 5; you must get the car to someone with a STAR system or DRBIII. You are in "MO"? Robert McCubbin is in Olathe, Kansas and has capability of disarming that alarm.

"But Mark, why is it beeping?" In non-SRTs, if the wing is not showing fully up, an alarm goes off around 90mph to tell you to put the wing up. Since SRTs have a fixed wing and no sensor to tell the BCM the wing is up, the flag in the code is disabled in SRTs. Yours has been (probably accidently) enabled.

If your car is NOT an SRT, then if you go over the set speed without the wing up, you will get the alarm. If the wing IS up and you get the alarm, either the limit switch is bad or the BCM is screwed up.

I don't have an srt I have an 05 limited convertible. I have my wing in the up position and disconnected as i found driving these curves and hills in missouri i get better car control. This problem started after my key broke and i had to remove the ecm and the box behind the cluster so i dont have to have a chip key it sat at the chrysler dealer for 4 months so maybe they accidentally turned it on while trying to fix the keys.

Well, there is why it's beeping. If you simply look at the diagram you will see why you can not disconnect it, the BCM is now showing an invalid position for the wing. If you want it to stay up, simply press and hold the button until it beeps, it is then locked in the UP position and the BCM will be happy.

Mystery solved.

On a related note, this is why I wrote the post in my sigline about how to ask for help - you MUST tell us the full story or we all both wasting our time. Now that you told us the full story, there is no mystery here. The system is working as designed.
