Need Help! P0505 idle control!
Hey guys I just basically need to know what you guys thing the problem is with my srt 6 crossfire that has 66k miles.
I have a check engine light that's pulling a p0505 code. I just added DCAI (not needswings) and a catback exhaust(not need wings ) I was told by the dealer it may need to be tuned because of all the new air coming into the motor. Still unsure and want to know what you guys think!

I do but it's kinking and I don't think alot of ait is getting through. Where would you suggest I get a hose? The stock hose does not reach completely . Is there a place I can get a certain hose with the same stock set up but a bit longer?
need a longer hose.
I can't advise with the PO505 code but I can keep a rubber hose from kinking shut. Referring to the rubber hose that connects the intake tube port then other end mounts to the drivers side valve cover area engine ventalation port. I went to HomeDepot and purchased a Stainless steel with yellow corrosion resistant coated Gas Connector. Flexable gas supply line like you would use on a water heater, range,or dryer. It's 1/2"OD by 36" long all curled up in a small bag. Use a tubing cutter to cut off just the ((flared ends only)) to remove all the unwanted nut hookups. Took the flex gas tubing to NAPA to be assured it would slip into their new rubber hose. Make sure to cut their rubber hose at least two inches longer than the gas tubing. Soap up really good the inside of the rubber hose and outside of gas tubing. With the hose straight and the gas tubing straight,it will slide in and never kink up. Then flush out all the soap from between the gas tubing and rubber hose with water. Squirrel Crusher
Mine originally kinked up when I did the DCAI install. I just took a little more time and rotated the hose on the barb fitting on the intake side. Problem solved.
When yours kinked up did it make it seem like your idle control motor was basically going out? My car is an automatic and it almost stalls itself out while I'm causing in 1st gear.
Alright guys so I'm at a point with the car that it's getting way to difficult to drive. I'm thinking about just brining it to a firestone and having them clean everything out. Any thoughts?
Were you having symptoms before the work you did? I ask because I got that code when my intake manifold bolts loosen up and were leaking. Check them but be careful not to strip the bolt heads. 20nm or 15 ft lbs. Does it run good under heavy throttle? Bad at cruise and light throttle?

The DCAI and cat back shouldn't be the cause. The ECU would adjust to it quickly IMO. More likely something inadvertently loose or off. I'm hoping you've unknowingly disconnected the hose under the throttle body. For the car to run badly under part throttle you'd have to have a whopper of a leak. Did you take the throttle body off? If so look in that area.

None of the rest of the M112 engine owners have one of those.
We just get by on having the PTCM tell the throttle body to open a smeech bit more, or close the butterfly a trifle to maintain the proper idle RPM.
Well, I guess he is a bunch smarter than the rest of us to discover that you have an "idle control motor".

If you have a severe vacuum leak, then your symptoms fit.
the leak could be anywhere, but I'd pay special attention to any of the areas involved with the work you just had done.
As a test, unplug the hose that runs from the manifold to the valve on the driver's side fender ( that is the canister purge valve ).
If it makes a big difference, then maybe you don't have a vacuum leak.
As another test, unplug the MAF/IAT sensor in the CAI, see what that does.

So whenever I turn my key to the electrical mode (not cranking it over ) the throttle body makes all theset weird clicking noises and I'm thinking of pulling the throttle body and cleaning it. How would I go about cleaning an srt throttle body?
