Hadn't planned on it, but I'd like to here more, sounds like you have some experience with it. I'm more interested in diagnosing my eratic shifting problem, I think I have a bad conductor plate(speed sensor) and possibly a broken spring in my tranny. I'm tearing it down tomorrow.

I had/have the first custom built TC for a 6 and it does feel a little different and more "snappy" on the street it yields no gains so far at the track(that have been proven by me or anybody else). There was also a lot of hype about some peoples' "custom super modded TCs that'll knock .5 seconds off your 1/4 et" that have never been talked about again since actually being installed in a car. I don't know about you..........but if I had a product that could actually do what I claimed it could do(once it was actually built)...........I would let you know with some nice timeslips and customer endorsements. I don't know how to explain it but custom TCs don't seem to do anything in a M-B vehicle, maybe it has to do with the ECU/TCU getting pissed off and telling it not to perform any better.
Apparently its a TCU issue, these transmission electronically control limit the amount of torque, but i did come across this on the MB board and wondered if some settings were changed on the TCU if you would see improvements, i thought of you when i saw this. this has proven useful, though no guinea pigs yet for the M112k motor. anyone wanna try it out?

not to butt in, but this is the first time I have seen this info...I have a friend, retired mechanical engineer from Allison Transmission. Designed M1A1 tank trannies. He is a consultant for Jasper Transmission in Jasper IN right now. If you could give me all the particulars on our little trannies, I could have him research what they could do for us. He spent time in Germany working on their tanks as well, so he may have connections to someone over there as well. I have always wanted a quicker, more firm shirt out of my vert, so I would love to help on this...
So far from what I have read, since the transmissions are totally electronically controlled you have to change the programming in the TCU in order to gain any benefits from mechanical modifications. I'll look into this more when I'm done with my disassembly, I'm about to drop the valve body from mine. I think we need to pull some of the info off the other forums and make stickies on here.
Southern Hot Rod has a valve body upgrade that you may be interested in. I've heard of them through LX Forums and SRT Connection. Their website is not up yet but they are known in the LX circles as one of the best in modding our NAGI transmission. Give them a call. (888-big-hemi)

Yup , I just read that. So far I can't figure out what is wrong with my transmission. I'm not getting any codes, feels like the transmission misshifts and than it will buck after shifting. Downshifts surge twice like letting out a clutch twice in a row. Couple times it has felt like the torque converter has completely locked when coming to a stop. The fluid level was good. There was some brass color in the pan from bushing wear and some fine metal dust. Nothing out of the ordinary. I think if the speed sensors were bad I would get at least a 700 p code. Anyone have any ideas? Kind of got off topic here but I need help!
I'm going to see if the fluid wicked into the TCU in the morning, its the only thing I haven't checked.

I had an older Benz that did the same thing. It also felt like it sometimes got "hung-up" when shifting and was searching for the right gear. I had
the transmission fluid changed and it solved all the problems.
