Oil/Filter Change Tips
I think I recall M-B recommending that the "fleece" filter be used on the supercharged 3.2L V-6. But originally recommended the "cellulose" filter with the NA 3.2L V-6. However, I do agree with others on this thread and in the Forum that the "cellulose" filter is a risk to sustain adequate oil filtration for the typical oil change, which was originally recommended by M-B at 7000 miles in their spec 229.3. Others can correct me if I missed something.

You seem to be a little out of touch with filters for the Crossfire if you do not know if AMSOIL makes one for it.
I think AMSOIL oil is over priced and over hyped. Make a buck if you can but get your facts right.
To make it worthwhile if you use AMSOIL you need to go 15K per change but pity your poor engine.
If you try and sell your Crossfire just mention you went 15K between oil changes with AMSOIL, that should bring in the offers .... not.😏
We can tell you are trying to come across as an authority on the subject of oil and filters - but that's not at all how you are coming across.
Your post history here consists of little more than sales pitches; you won't impress anyone if that's all you have to contribute.

.
just purchased an '04 and will change the oil asap. previous owner told me 'it's due for an oil change'...after driving it 50 miles (halfway home) check engine light comes on and oil light briefly flashes (while on curves I think). this thread is exactly what I was looking for, for getting that oil replaced. I expect to be deep diving on this forum for some time to come. thank you to all you expert, long time owner/practitioners!
Lots of great info here.

this is the type I use : CLICK
I've got a heavy-duty version that years ago I used to hold the crank pulley on a Merkur XR4Ti whenever I had to change the timing belt. The outer crank pulley had to come off to get at the timing belt. So the crank pulley had to be held tight to loosen screw holding the pulley on. Likewise, putting everything back together was critical so the timing belt didn't move on you. This strap wrench, braced against the floor below the crank puley, held like nothing else I've ever used. It's got a 2 inch wide leather belt on it.
