Default Convertible top, wing not working

My top nor spoiler have been working, windows would not go down when I released D ring, also radio was not working. I have been able to put top up and down manually, I put spoiler down manually the other day as the button on console did nothing but blink. Today I pulled every fuse and checked them ...all good. Then I remembered reading a post by pizza guy I believe about put top up and down with car running...so I tried that. After the first time going through the sequence he described...the windows go down when D handle is released....the bow unlatches and tries to lift but only goes about an inch or two. Also I can not put top down manually now as I cant lift the bow high enough to lift up the lid. It's like its froze up. I checked fluid level...its half way between max and low. Any help is much appreciated.....
. One more thing spoiler started working by button on console after going through the reset sequence. No more blinking lights on top or spoiler switches.

How old is your battery? When the battery starts to fail it makes the car do weird things.
If you have a battery tender you can try putting it on and let it charge for a day or two. Then remove it and start the car and try to operate the top again. Don't use a high out put charger like a jump starter.
If you don't drive the car often, keep it on a battery tender.
You could also try disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 5 minutes and then reconnect it. I don't know if that will work or not. Just a shot in the dark.

the car is putting out 14.59 amps when running, the battery is only one month old....it does die after a few days sitting,so I will definitely put it on the battery tender...I hadn't thought of that. Thank you for the help.i can hear the pump running and the bow tries to lift but only goes a couple inches.

You mentioned that the battery dies after a few days. Do you still have the original alarm siren in the car? That may be the source of your power drain. You can test this by pulling fuse #9 in the engine compartment fuse box near the brake master cylinder.
If the battery doesn't die in a few days, then the alarm is bad and needs to be removed or replaced.

The alarm siren is located under the wiper cowl. It's not a hard job to remove it.
Here's a link to a post I did with pictures and descriptions. If you do take the wiper cowl off, you should clean the drains while you're in there. That's also in my post.

. Thank you for that info. I will definitely check it out on your post, when I bought the car the person put in a new battery, so I’m not sure about the siren, or what that is. The good news is I got the top and spoiler working, the micro switch in tonneau cover was stuck, cleaned it and lubed it up, all working good now….. I’m going to pull #9 fuse tomorrow see if that stops battery from dying.
Thank you Lester

Hi Lester,
Congratulations on resolving your issue. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind posting a picture of the microswitch and its location. My top has stopped working, and given my history with the car, it would be a miracle if problem is as simple as cleaning a microswitch, but I would like to try that first.
Thanks, sincerely
Jerry

This is the video I watched.
His top was doing the same as mine was.
Good luck and hope this helps.
This forum has a lot of helpful information, stay away from dealerships as they are often just guessing.

no problem, let us know how it turns out, be sure to work the switch with your finger, there is a spring in there, the switch should spring back freely,if not it could be sticking or the spring broke or fell out . Good luck
Lester
