Well, I’ve got the car at the body shop and my guy is putting may front and rear camber kits on, brakes etc. and look at this doozy he sent me when getting to the OEM rear camber arms.
The top is the worrisome part. It’s the passenger side. I can’t tell what the hell has been done to it. He thinks someone has welded the bolt in or that something is welded together. He won’t know until he gets the bolt out. Can anyone tell what’s going on in the picture? I know it’s kind of hard to tell, but any general observation would be welcomed. Thanks fellas
It looks similar to what my lower control arm did to the carrier frame on my limited. My lower control arm bolt was torn from it's location when I went off road and hit a rock. Your picture looks as though the camber control arm and bolt was forcible torn outward. You can see the missing metal from the carrier frame bracket. Your shop may be able to fabricate two new side pieces for the bracket and weld them in place. I dropped the carrier frame, bought a used one from junk yard and replaced the complete frame.
That broken bracket is part of the "carrier frame" which is like a hand or claw that is bolted to the body of the car with four bolts. It is not all that difficult to remove the entire carrier frame and replace it. I did it myself with no help, but I do have a lift in my shop, and it does involve some man hours. look at a parts diagram to better understand how it attaches.

Oh ok gotcha, I appreciate that. Thanks for the info. There are a couple of wrecked Crossfires here OKC. I wonder if trying to get that part would be better than fabricating one?
My insurance is paying for all the front work being done to the car. The back work is coming out of pocket. I’ve wanted the camber fixed on the back for awhile now, I’m tired of replacing tires every 10-15,000 miles. In your opinion what is the best option that won’t kill me in the pocket? Thanks in advance
Best option may be to just leave well enough alone and let the rear end as is, so long as the shop thinks the current welds look good and it is safe to drive. here is a picture of the carrier removed from my car. it may help you make a decision.
He didn't think it was safe as he said if it was his he wouldn't drive his car if it was like that. I talked with him today and he said it looked way worse than it was. He said he's not sure WTH the previous person was trying to do. He said everything is tip top and the rear camber kit is installed. Everything is to the spec that I wanted it to be so no more wearing of the inner tires. Thanks again fellow members I appreciate your input
