Electrical issues!!!
It is my understanding that the BCM is generic and has no specific information in it, a BCM is a BCM.
NOW, I do believe the SRT and Base/Limited BCMs are different, but I can't say that for sure. If you car is an SRT, get a BCM from an SRT - if not an SRT make sure the BCM didn't come from an SRT.
I THINK I read that the Coupe and Roadster take the same BCM, which surprises me, because the BCM in the Roadster has control over the windows when you move the top.
Just get a BCM from the same configuration (coupe or roadster) and trim level (SRT or Base/Limited) and you should be fine.

If you pull the BCM out of your car the part number is easily seen on the case of the BCM. Replace it with the same part number. I'm skeptical of electrical parts on ebay. If the part number matches at redline I think you will get a good part.
If you have damage from rodents the test of fuse 19 as I outlined in the third post will go a long way on clarifying your problem.

Yes, You can pull the BCM. You will first want to disconnected the negative battery cable and be certain it does not slip and hit any part of the car that can carry electrical current. Look at post #9, and click on the link. It will show you a picture of exactly what you are looking at. The link talks about the RCM, but you want the BCM. Once you have the lid off the large plastic box the BCM is the one close to the fender. It will be difficult to pull the wired connectors off of the module. Take your time and do it carefully; Do not pull on the wires. Look for any locking clips on the sides of the electrical connectors which must be disengaged before you pull. Get a hold of the plastic connector and pull up on it.
If all this seems too much. Try an independent european specialist garage. Let them first test for power at fuse #19 and if that is good then disconnect the battery and change out the BCM. One hour labor max or their minimum charge. If you have damage to your wiring because of rodents, then you are into much more in the cost to repair.
GOOD LUCK

So . . . What was the outcome of your problem here? Inquiring minds want to know . . . I'm researching a BCM problem for another Crossfire friend . . . He has an NA roadster. If someone can send me a photo of all the number on a BCM from an NA roadster, that would be helpful.
Thanks,
Thanks,
I'm with RED DOG, please post an update about what you've learned about your BCM issues.
I'm dealing with a driver side window that stops working intermittently (will work for 6 months, then it stops working for a few weeks). I finally ran some tests and all roads lead to the BCM being the culprit. I recently moved so I have not experience with the local dealerships and am not sure that chrysler guys even know about xfires anymore. I'm asking around for an independent mechanic with Merc experience to work with on this issue.

Hi guys! Sorry for the delay. So I have taken my car to 4 different shops , 1 being a Chrysler dealer ( which knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about our cars ) and none have found the issue as of yet . I switched out the bcm with another bcm I purchased and the the problem still existed. Not sure if the part number matters or what . It is currently at the 4th shop that is going to check for a loose or damaged wire. This may take some time so I will keep you guys posted.
Here are a couple independent Mercedes service centers around Allentown.

Certainly models are different; do the circuits for the windows on each models BCM circuit boards work identically. I do not know, but it is certainly less expensive to use only a BCM replacement with the same number, than to continue this hunt for a repair solution with a BCM that may or may not be compatible.
In your shop travels , stop by Harbor Freight & get a volt meter for under $10 -- one of the little red ones .
Some times they give them away w/ a purchase . It should do everything you are hiring folks to do once u learn how to use it .

No worries, thanks for posting an update.
The Merc dealer near me said they will work on xFires so I brought it over to them to have a look. They ran some tests on it and said that they don't feel comfortable messing with the BCM, so they drove it over to their Chrysler shop (they own 4 dealerships all side by side) to have a look. I'll get an update tomorrow

The Merc dealer said the problem is definitely in the BCM but that this was something the Chrysler techs need to deal with, so they took it over to their Chrysler guys who said they cannot identify the issue (why it's not working). I took the car to inspection anyway and it worked while there, so I've got some time to sort this out. Any BCM pros out there, please chime. In the meantime I'm going to buy used BCM and see what if I can make it work.
You can buy used junk on eBay. But you shouldn't.
You can look for a parts car either here on the forum or at a salvage yard.
I know of no source for a new one.
