LMAO....poor Franc. I have my fun just getting down there, and back. I like to relax once down there.... The trips usually don't work for me. I just jump in where ever it leads me. I usually just follow an old truck driver around... His UPS delivery experience hasn't steered my wrong yet. If I go with the fast crowd, that might affect my CDL...lol... Better protect that now that I no longer have my get out jail shield.... Time to get the roadster out and shine her up. The coupe came the last meet, time for top down fun.
Not sure what we will be doing this time around but I:m sure I can come up with something ,like Doc said the company ask me to renew my CDL this year as back up for peak season not sure about that yet , but will keep it low key anyway , still few spots I like running hard , was thinking about bring the Corvette but that out now , James my have best Idea cruse over the Sky way and down to the falls and Pic and lunch and back to 129 to hellbender .back to Fontana That a nice day , may come with something Different by the time we get down there but that sound pretty good as of now , Just seeing old friends and visiting is good with me , for all the NEWBE coming this what happen you make life long friends ,that will keep you coming back no matter what you drive , remember keep the wing up see at the Dragon , Ray and Susan
Ray: still love my billet grille...thanks for the info you furnished...looking forward to seeing you and Susan...Carl
Acutally, the run in that video is 8.5 miles because he started at the Overlook. The parking area down by the brigde is mile 0, the Overlook is about mile 2.5 and the TN/NC state line is mile 11!
Now, for comparison, I have been watching a LOT of YouTube videos and did some homework. (I don't have a girlfriend, so I have time for stuff like this...)
Full run (11 miles) Note1 / Overlook to State Line (8.5 miles) Note 2
Jason and Nick 15:25 / 12:20
Eryk of the Gencoupes ---- / 12:57
My Moderate Run 16:45 / 13:17
Micheal's Tourist Run 18:45 / 14:29
Overlook to State line Note 2
Honda CBR1000 and Motard 11:14
James Scott S on a Speed Triple (Gary's Video) 11:34
"NOTE 1 Times are from when the car/bike crosses the east edge of the parking lot pavement down at the west end by the river to the state line fence, just up the hill from the Gap."
"NOTE 2 Times are from when the car crosses bewteen the two parking area of the Over look to the State line fence, just up the hill from the Gap. For the Gens and others who start there, time starts when the car/bike is completely in the lane and acclerating away."

.........Cherohala Skyway with double back
***This route does NOT include the Dragon***
Here is what Tammi and I plan to do for Saturday, and anyone that wants to join is welcome.
It will be a take-your-time drive and enjoy the scenery.
Since the Cherohala Skyway is our favorite part, we will double back over it after eating lunch in Tellico Plains.
Telecafe
128 Bank Street
Tellico Plaines, Tn
(423) 253-2880
On the way back, we can stop at Bald River Falls just outside of Tellico Plains for those that have not been there yet.
Cherokee National Forest - Bald River Falls
It is worth stopping even if you have been before.
Also we plan to stop at the Joyce Kilmer National Forest before getting back to the lodge.
It is two mile walk from the parking lot but sounds really interesting.
More info here: National Forests in North Carolina - Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest
This route does NOT include the Dragon.
See the attached map if you are interested.
Times and distance are printed on the map.

At the Spring Dragon.. we went to a resturaunt I think it was Friday morning.. in the rain and waiting for them to open. Where was that? Sherri and I went across the street to a little shop that had specialty chocolates.. Those things were awesome and we want to reload.. LOL
