Svengoolie's weekend adventure! August 30th & 31st, 2025
It was finally a great weekend weather wise. So we took Sven to the local Saturday cruise night at Diane's Dairy in Montville, NJ. Sunday we went on a 90 mile road trip from New Jersey into upstate New York and back.
Here are some pics from the weekend.

Part 2; Sunday, August 31, 2025. We went on a road trip with some friends. We met in Pompton Plains, New Jersey at the Stop & Shop. From there we drove up to Warwick, New York and stopped for breakfast at the "Country Dream" restaurant.
After breakfast we headed up to Sugarloaf (Chester) NY and checked out some of the places there. This one shop owner had a nice Morgan roadster outside of his store. I talked with him for a few minutes about his car and ours.
We left NY and headed back to NJ. We stopped at the Monksville Dam located in Wanaque, NJ. The dam was built by flooding a town. The buildings are still there under the water. Then we headed back home. The trip was about 85 - 90 miles driving on some great back roads!
Breakfast at the Country Dream in Warwick, NY "Svengoolie" with his friends. "Pennie" a 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 (Bronze car) and "Rozan" a 1967 Coronet 500. On the road from Warwick, NY to Chester, NY. My car in the mirror of the 1967 Coronet 500. The Morgan roadster parked in front of a candle shop in Sugarloaf (Chester) NY. The Monksville Dam in Wanaque, NJ. The Coronets at the dam. My crossfire is on the other side and is so low that you can't see it. It was funny when this Subway delivery car made a u-turn in the parking lot. The sign on the bear's back says "My neighbor hates my car! LOL
Nice pictures but I could not notice the license plate. Tank Guy? There has to be a story there.
I drove the M60A3 Patton tank in the U.S. Army, thus the name "TANK GUY". Originally it was going to be "KNGTYGR", or "PZKWVIB" Because my favorite WWII tank is the King Tiger (Panzerkampfwagen VI B).
But I thought tank guy would be easier for everyone to understand. How wrong I was! People think I remove oil tanks for a living! LOL
Here's a picture of my M60A3 Patton MBT - TTS (Main Battle Tank - Tank Thermal Sight) on the Czech border in 1984.
Thank you for all of your interesting and informative posts! I was thinking about taking my XFire to a local “cruse in” for the first time. I was wondering if you have any pointers on what I should expect and how best to show off my car. I have a 2005 Blaze Red Limited Roadster that is 95% stock and 18k miles. Thanks again. MikeE

Thanks for the kind words about my "How to" posts.
As far as a cruise night or car show, I think that you'll find a lot of people who will be interested in your car. Be prepared to answer some questions about it.
Bring some micro fiber towels and something like McGuires show and shine. Just to get the dust off and make it look nice. I usually display my car with the hood up so people can see my engine. I also like it better with the top down so they can see the interior. The main thing is just to relax and enjoy the cars and the people. Most people at events are friendly.
I hope that you have a great time! You should post a couple of pictures after you go. Here's a pic from a cruise night.
Have fun!
John

Thank you and now your online moniker makes MUCH MORE SENSE. And if I had half a clue I would have picked that up. A3 Version of the tank had upgraded solid state ballistic computer and the new thermal sights. Much like sub movies, tank movies are awesome and mostly inaccurate. Being a tank driver or tank crew is about one more dangerous jobs in a active war. Tank warfare is more about get them first before they get you. The war in Ukraine is rewriting the books on any mobile infantry. @M60A3Driver Thank you for your service.
I have mostly lived in the South East most of my life but in my travels in the North East corridor and seeing the number of oil tanks on the eastern shore, I am not surprised they think you have something do with giant round cylinders.

Thank you. It was my honor to serve.
As far as movies go, I think Fury nails the brotherhood that a tank crew has and the cramped quarters of a tank. "Best job I ever had".
Svengoolie met some interesting cars on Wednesday! 09/03/2025
I went to the local cruise night and we had a great turnout! More cars arrived after I took these pics, the weather was perfect.
A man showed up with a 1969 Shelby GT 350 Mustang. It was all original including the owner! He has owned the car since new and has all of the documentation.
All original 1969 Shelby GT 350 Jaguar with a Chevy 350 in it Notice the original car phone!
Svengoolie scores twice for my birthday! Septemeber 13 & 14 2025
I had a great birthday weekend thanks to my girlfriend and my roadster!
Saturday my girlfriend took me out for a great early dinner. Then we went to our favorite cruise night at Diane's Dairy. She brought a big balloon that we put on Sven. Then she brought enough cookies for everyone at the show from a great bakery near us! Then to the night got better because Sven won a 1st place trophy for best in show! My birthday probably helped, but I did work hard on detailing the car for the weekend.
Sunday, I went to a charity car show for the Boys and Girls Club of America, which was sponsored by Fette Ford, a local dealer.I had to leave early to pick up my father for dinner at my house.
In the evening, my friend Bill showed up, and it turns out Sven won another trophy! This one was for 2nd place in the 2000-2009 Stock class. I didn't expect to win because there were a lot of great cars in my class. I guess being a unique car like the Crossfire, impressed the judges, instead of the usual modern, Challengers, Mustangs, Vettes, etc... A great weekend and all of the hard work payed off.
Sven and the birthday balloon. Saturday, September 13th. Boys and Girls Club show on Sunday, September 14th. The trophy that my friend dropped off after the show.
My friend's 1968 Camaro with a 396 cid & 4 speed trans. He's owned it since 1969. It was originally white and he actually road raced in the 70's and 80's. (Notice the roll cage). The current paint is modeled after the famous racer "Smokey Yunick". Smokey had the number 13, but Bill road raced his entire career with number 8.

I have been following your "journey".
Your car has come a long way.
Very impressive.
You have to be proud of your hard work and excellent results.
(and a mention and thanks to all that you have taught us)

Thank you Jim!
I appreciate that. Sven has come along way, but I'm really proud to be a member of this community and happy to know people in it!
Winter is on it's way, so I'll be posting more maintenance type posts soon.
