Most dont need the lsd, but when they experience a failure in the rear end they will find that the cost of the differential will far eclipse their wallets. If you get into it at the track, the pin will take a hit and finally youll discover that the rear may be the Achilles' heel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia of the car.
THis carrier is stronger and thus less of a future concern. When the helicopters are leaving the roof, there will be plenty of interested people then, wishing that they were protected from a failure and wanting to buy the last spare rear unit - at a pretty penny then.

As of 4:00PM 7-28-10 Devin has my deposit which makes me number 9. He stated that if he received one more deposit,he would get the ball rolling and we should receive our rear's in 90 days. Do we have one more out there???

I think this is great and am hoping one other person steps up. I would but it is shitty timing for me. Hopefully I will be able to hop on the bandwagon before it is too late.
OK. I know this is going to kill my cash flow for months, but you guys are scaring the crap out of me that this won't be available later.
Put me down for one of these. I'll call Devin in the morning.
So... this will guarantee me that I won't break my diff at the track? or screwing around smoking tires? Right?

Hey Guys,
Count me in I'll Call first thing tomorrow with payment as soon as I get back home.
I guess I need to check out the forum more often...
I've been way to busy.

Gahhh....can someone PM me about this? I'll have the money by the time the 90 days is up, but i want to be SURE that there will be a unit available...I just had to spend money on other things that actually make sense.
I don't see why the entire board hasn't jumped on this....I mean yeah if you never track the car you'll probably be fine. But even just some light drag duty I'm sure will play hell over a few years... And I'd really like to be able to do a burnout and not worry if i'm going to snap the pinion.

Holy Triple Post Batman!
I just called the Big D. Paypal owes me 750+ dollars so I can't make my deposit right now, but he counted me in on the list, so we're one closer as far as I understood it. (He's going to call me on the day that the 550 is being taken out and get my info then.)

I just talked to Devin and put in my order/down payment. He said they were very close to the point where the manufacturer will give a green light and start production. He said it would be about 120 days after that for delivery. As mentioned above, down payment will be charged when they get the green light for production and the rest charged when your diff ships.
So, does anyone know how many hours I'm gonna have to pay a mechanic to install this unit?

Talking install, I suspect that the rear will need shims for the pumpkin to align the pinion with the ring depending on the final layout. I did my rear first and had no issues with phantom grip, but it was the same differential and it all went in ok.
You have to remove the axles, probably the seals should be replaced for the axles, and then you gotta pull the pinion and pumpkin out of the case to swap the new carrier in. THat comment on pulling the axles is not a small task and it all takes time. My first swap in and out was about 8 hours of learning and doing. Time probably could be as little 3-5 hours with a lift. Okay, I just got off the phone with Devin and he has my number for deposit....
He did tell me that he is getting back with the builder to make sure that unit will work with the Crossfire and the SLK32.... has to do with how the axels mount on the SLK versus the SRT....
KRAZY, did they have a SRT pumpkin or a SLK that they did the eval on???
He didnt seem worried, just wants to make sure it fits/works in both so there is only one design.....
