15 weeks problem shooting and no repair
i cant ask them anything, their done with the car. It is taking up lift and they want it out and there money. i got the official get the f..out with that letter
the car started before the short and hasn't since. 2~i believe it turns over 2 twice and then stop till the memory is cleared. that is how it was with me.
Well, then I would sue their butts.... If the car ran and it had a short, then that has nothing to do with Chrysler. But, lets move on. Skreem will have those symptoms. Turn over twice...3rd no start. Reset and it will repeat. Just maybe they didn't install the skreem or installed it incorrectly. If you are paying for the work, they have to answer your questions and show you the parts. I don't know all the circumstances here, but if they did this to one of my cars, I wouldn't be picking anything up or paying until my attorney told me to. Let us know what you are going to do. No reason to move on until we know exactly what happened.
You are describing a bad SKREEM module, it has happened often before. Reports have been that the car is taken to a dealer, the skreem is replaced and the keys re-coded; you pay SEVERAL hundred dollars - and drive the car home.
It sounds to me like they did not program/set up the new SKREEM properly.
I wish Josh would throw his two cents in here.
the short was my fault. i just got the word tonight after closing, so i have no idea about the parts but did intent to collect them. i'll check with a lawyer but i dont think i have a chance in hell with that
their clueless about the car and programming, i have know idea if the did it right, i kept going back to them question them about it and got the same answer - their getting directions from HQ
Just another thought along the "lawyer" lines.. wouldn't you really need to have someone fix the car and document in order to prove the incompetent "service" from the dealer?

Chrysler has now kicked me to the curb, they said the gave all the support to the dealership and the dealership says no way. HQ dines any help it adjusting the coast to not repair. When another dealer said no way it was broke coming in and the excepted the repair the the parts put in are wrong. it is finger pointing at it best and i am getting the middle one......
Wonder how hard it would be for a tuner to simply program out the SKREEM in the PCM and jumper from keyswitch to starter.
At some point we need to learn to live without Chrysler's help. Its just a computer (been reprogramming my GM cars for years, it is just a different set of instructions).

At the moment they want you to fade away quietly and they may succeed in that if you do not fight for your rights. They sold the car and cannot fix it? This is not nuclear physics here. It's just a bloody car with over the counter parts in it.
See if you can get a reporter who makes waves for the consumer involved. A TV advocate would be the best as their comments go farther afield than a local print reporter.
I'd say getting a reasonable cash payout for the car is the least they can do and I mean a fair payout.
Bad publicity is the last thing they want these days. It costs money to get replacement customers, keeping the ones you have is cheaper in the long run.
Great post one hundred! At the very least it'll get their attention. It's a car that won't start and they can't even make a diagnosis. But they can charge to try? Shame on them!

I would document your conversations with the dealer reps and send it to the GM and Service Manager.
ie. This is to confirm .......
Better to start legal action with something solid.
And that TV reporter thing works. Once for my son when after truck showed up and again when the same son told his problem source that is next action was to call the TV reporter. And neither got on TV.
They expect you to show anger. Be calm. Be professional.

I'll bet Buckhead Imports, Rudy or sk8erjosh09 would have this car running by now. Anyone who can swap engines and program the PTCM certainly knows enough of what is going on to get this car running.
And as to Padgett's idea of "programming around the SKREEM", those guys would be able to answer that question. I've often wondered about that myself.

Pretty sure TouchScan has OBD monitoring capability. Could just grab the whole CANBUS stream while starting and see what it sends.
Just got done getting a proper NMEA 183 stream from Windows Locator but have lotsa projects and a girlfriend to keep happy.
