*Needed* 20 to Pre-order Wavetrac LSD for SLK32/SRT-6
One more piece of the puzzle;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; slk32 people ,,, #1 i hope you are going to send your diff to Devin for him to install the Wavetrac,, and below is why.
Here is the newest news on the slk 32Wwavetrac
you need to send your diff and the two stub axle shafts to Devin ,,,because he needs to machine the grove at the end of the axle about ,011 ,,,( this does not hurt a thing) it just allows the spring clip to go on and let the axle shaft (stub) slide in and out, like the one peace axle,,,;now the good part the .011 that is machined ou,t does not hurt the C-clip at al,, in other words if you want to put the stock carrier back into the car to sell the car or Wavetrac it will fit just like before. there will be no extra charge for the machining. this could also include the 2004 crossfire, people that want a Wavetrac, jim
of course if you sell the wacetrac, you might want to swap axles with the buyer so his new wavetrac and axles fit .

sorry guys but i have been losing money on the last few batches of oil out, i need to bump it up from 45 shipped to 49 shipped from now forward. i don't mind breaking even on stuff like this but i just cannot go negative on them.
Are there any Crossfires with the bolt-in axles? Sometime back when I studied up on changing the rear wheel bearings, every parts break-down or service manual illustration showed bolted axles at the diff. I looked at mine several times thinking they may have had a cover or boot on them but never did find them.

the Wavetrac is the carrier in the differential , all the axles fit into the diff N/A or srt the 2004 to 2009,,the 04 crossfire has axles stubs,,( this is where things change) the axle stubs from a crossfire or slk have to be sent along with your differential to Unitrax - call Rob at needswings ( he is the wavetrac dealer he will tell you what and where to send your diff,, they will modify your axles so that it pushing in and out of the diff ,they will return your C-clips and your diff with the axle stubs in it ,you may pull the stubs without removing the rear cover, to install into car,or leave them there.
now for the c-clip,,it is used in the 2004 Crossfire and slk 32 Mercedes when unitrax through needswings gets you diff and stubs they machine about .020 out of the grove on the end of the axle so a spring clip will alow the axle to be a push in type like the other Crossfires are now. if you ever decide to remove the Wavetrac to sell it or what ever, you should swap the axle stubs with whomever you sell it to if they have a SLK or an 2004 Crossfire this way they can install and drive and so can you. jim

Bolt on axles are the same as axle stubs.
guys your getting the terminology confused. if you have a 1 piece axle that goes from the outside hub assy to the diff you have snap rings that hold the axles in. no mods needed.
if you have a 2 piece axle that has a flange that bolts the 2 pieces together you have a c clip that is inserted from inside the diff. this req. the end of the axle shaft be machined so a larger snapring and a spacer can be inserted converting to the 1 piece axle style. you can have unitrax do this or a machine shop . either way the wavetrac can be fitted to any crossfire built.

devin called me today. they are scheduled to pick up 6 units today and hopefully mine is installed and ships thurs back to me.
Im sure Devin gets a lot of calls and I dont want to bug him, but am I the only one who has not received a phone call yet that paid a deposit last year?
I have not received a call yet either. I imagine we'll get a call when they're working on our individual units and are ready to be paid the balance. And since I'm last on the list, I'm not expecting a call for awhile.
