Default engine bay temperature-have you checked in?

when touching the engine after stopped, noticed it is very hot. hot air goes up, and there is no way for the air to flow with the hood closed. so, when the engine is stopped, the temperature increases more that when it is running.
when tried leaving the hood open, it cooled down fast.
perhaps a simple solution may be when you reach a destination, to open the hood until it cools off. and if the sun hits it, place something as a spacer and close the hood partially.

I believe automobile engine compartments have been that way forever. Actually, when I open my hood, it doesn't seem that extreme.

the air flow through the engine bay may be good when the engine is running, as air enters and flows through the engine and components, and exits through the rear. this is fine, as long as the car is in motion, or even if stopped but with the engine running, the fan will take care of it.
but as soon as you stop the engine, as the air tends to go up when hot and there is no opening anywhere up, it just stops flowing (another drafting board engineering failure).
anyway, just check it, and even measure the temp. and if you left the hood down, that heat may damage components. any. particularly rubber or plastic. and seals. anything.
and even if you open the hood, if it is under the sun, it remains hot forever.
dont believe me, measure the temps.

that is what i do, and it cools off dramatically.

i hope this helps.
With the car stopped and the engine off the engine will start to decrease in temperature, slower than if was running downhill with the engine off, but still cooling.
I think that materials liable to be damaged by heat too soon are not used, having been replaced by more suitable materials.

We do not let that heat go to waste, we use it to cook dinner on a long trip, there is nothing like the smell of roast beef and baked potatoes in the cabin as you drive.

Why don't you see what Wiki says about it and post any answers on the Skoda forum, they will love to hear I am sure.

Just how do you come up with asinine stuff like this? How bored can you be?

If you are really the 'engineer' you claim to be, where the hell is your data? Where are the temperature measurements of a Crossfire compared to other vehicles? If you want to make the point that the Crossfire has some sort of design flaw, you must support your asinine accusation with hard data; as it is, you are just coming across as someone with nothing to say but saying it anyway.

And I might point out, this is the second time you've brought this up. No one cared before, and no one cares now.

and if the administrator-the ruler. God in this forum, tells this, that nobody can contest, what do we expect from others that may be interested in posting?
all this hatred began when you couldnt accept that i brought technical proof that the condition of the car battery can precisely be measured and not, as you say, that it has to be replaced every 4 years. that is what started this tirade.
of course, you will post again-and all your gang-destroying me with more insults, exposing yourself.
and, what do you expect from all who just read posts, but dont dare to post due to this behavior?
that is why almost no 1 dare to post.
now, how long this post will remain before you erase it?

Using your findings we may conclude that if we were to place a Crossfire engine in place of our house furnaces we could heat the house with the heat coming from the running engine and then turn the engine off and have the non running engine give of more heat.
I think you have saved the planet by cutting down the use of fossil fuels.🙄

2 words from Aerosmith’s Song Crazy come to mind

You guessed it Crazy, crazy
So So crazy crazy he had to say it twice.

Bat Sheit Crazy
What more is there to say.

perhaps Phil came to his engine temp conclusion with the car running in the garage and limited fresh air.

CO2 can do that to you

Phil, no one hates you, we just don’t understand your level of crazy. What’s mind blowing is that you were able to hold it together long enough to pass the driving test and legally access the roadways around you.

THATS REALLY CRAZY

Now . . . imagine an huge Wally mart parking full of car with all their hood open on an hot 30 C.+ afternoon or on all the parking along streets of big Citys

Hot or warm engine consume less gaz when restarted so . . . less gaz equal less polution, less harder on Battery, on Starter and a lot more less on many things.

May be You should get the hood off completely on your car and leave it at home if You think it will be better for the engine but do not toutch engine manifold because they will still get hot .

Daniel

The trouble with you is your frequent use of the words hate and hatred, I have hated just one person in my life and many others thought the same. He was a despicable excuse for a man. We have seen what hate can do too recently and it was not something I would not want to see again.

First, you presented no such 'proof', you only tossed out a "word salad".

Second, I dont hate you or anyone (even Biden). YOUR posts drive all of this, when you post some comment in a thread on some random topic, I don't even respond. It's these asinine threads about NOTHING that get to members of the forum. 1/3 of the PMs I get here go something like this: "Phil is at it again, can't you DO SOMETHING?"

So, I do something.

I don’t think anyone here wants to touch you.
We’re all happy to know that your happy touching yourself.

I think the saying goes I wouldn’t touch him with an 10’ pole.

At this point when Phil post ive basically started to believe he just be trolling. Im a believer of the old phrase "There is no such thing as a stupid question" but even I have to admit sometimes I question my belief in that saying when phil makes a thread.
