engine bay temperature-have you checked in?
when touching the engine after stopped, noticed it is very hot. hot air goes up, and there is no way for the air to flow with the hood closed. so, when the engine is stopped, the temperature increases more that when it is running.
when tried leaving the hood open, it cooled down fast.
perhaps a simple solution may be when you reach a destination, to open the hood until it cools off. and if the sun hits it, place something as a spacer and close the hood partially.

I believe automobile engine compartments have been that way forever. Actually, when I open my hood, it doesn't seem that extreme.
a suggestion:
when you arrive from a ride, open the hood and touch the engine. or just get your hand close to it.
the air flow through the engine bay may be good when the engine is running, as air enters and flows through the engine and components, and exits through the rear. this is fine, as long as the car is in motion, or even if stopped but with the engine running, the fan will take care of it.
but as soon as you stop the engine, as the air tends to go up when hot and there is no opening anywhere up, it just stops flowing (another drafting board engineering failure).
anyway, just check it, and even measure the temp. and if you left the hood down, that heat may damage components. any. particularly rubber or plastic. and seals. anything.
and even if you open the hood, if it is under the sun, it remains hot forever.

I think that materials liable to be damaged by heat too soon are not used, having been replaced by more suitable materials.
We do not let that heat go to waste, we use it to cook dinner on a long trip, there is nothing like the smell of roast beef and baked potatoes in the cabin as you drive.
Why don't you see what Wiki says about it and post any answers on the Skoda forum, they will love to hear I am sure.
If you are really the 'engineer' you claim to be, where the hell is your data? Where are the temperature measurements of a Crossfire compared to other vehicles? If you want to make the point that the Crossfire has some sort of design flaw, you must support your asinine accusation with hard data; as it is, you are just coming across as someone with nothing to say but saying it anyway.

Hot or warm engine consume less gaz when restarted so . . . less gaz equal less polution,less harder on Battery, on Starter and a lot more less on many things.
May be You should get the hood off completely on your car and leave it at home if You think it will be better for the engine but do not toutch engine manifold because they will still get hot .
