Dash lights go crazy, stuck in first gear, BAS light on and off
My son has an 05 Base and lately when starting out or even in the middle of driving, all the lights on the dash start flicking, BAS/ESP stays on, rpm guage fluctuates up and down along with gas guage, then once we come to a stop, it's stuck in first gear. Pull over, restart the car, it's fine but a hard second gear shift. Replaced battery, brake pedal sensor to no revale. Can a wheel speed sensor do all this? It's doing it more frequently now like daily. Only code that reads is a Serial Communication Link, Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit....
We replaced the Conductor Plate 2 years ago due to shifting issues and it fixed that problem then.

Do u think that what's causing all the drama?
EXACTLY what codes are you getting? P0xxx - tell us what the values in the xxx are.
EXACTLY what 'lights' are coming on? "Dash lights" to me means backlighting, but I get the idea you don't mean backlighting.
This kinda sounds like a failing Traction Control relay or similar issue with the RCM - but the idea it clears by restarting the car kinda blows that idea.

P0335 & P0600 All lights, like battery, seat belt, engine light, etc....but the BAS ESP will stay on until we restart the engine. Everyone of them will come on and go off, like flickering on and off the entire time until....again....a restart then all stop. RPM fluctuates where u can here it and feel it in the power, like if it raises u hear it and if it lowers u hear it but also feel the power difference too if that makes any sense at all....lol. but I'd we come to a stop the car will stay locked in 1st gear and if luckily it shifts to second, it will be stuck there in second...until again....restart then it's fine for a while...
P0335 usually means a bad Crank Sensor.
But the P0600 is another matter, it points to failed communications between modules but does not tell us which modules, you can assume it's failed communications from the ECU to another module.
Given the lights coming on like that I'd suggest the following:
1) Replace the Crank Sensor with a Bosch part from German Auto Supply, FCP Euro, etc.
2) Replace the RCM or send it to DJ for evaluation (he will replace bad relays and reflow any suspect solder paths).
3) I'd take a REAL close look at battery post connections, and the ground from the block to chassis or maybe install one of these modifications:

I get the idea you have failing power to the ECU/Brake Controller/TCU/Instrument panel, this can be in the RCM or in the electrical (battery/alternator) system in general.
This is not a wheel speed sensor.

Well believe it or not, the Right Rear ABS sensor caused all this!!! It wouldn't come out of 1st gear, dash guages flickering, RMP guage cutting off and coming on, car wouldn't start, etc. Pass this on!!!! Put on the new sensor, and wella, purrs like a cat!!!
Been following this ... what led you to the Right Rear ABS sensor ... glad to hear you got it fixed, but how did you learn that was the problem?
well the BAS kept coming on and I did some digging on the P0600...there was a lot of variety with this code so I just kept going through the process of elimination and the last (of course) was this sensor. With luck it was the first sensor I came to and replaced. Knowing this now, I'm going to replace the rest of them so I'm not stuck again at 10mph. I just STILL cannot believe that the ABS sensor can actually do all this to a car....computers I guess...I thought for sure it was the TCM but after testing it, I moved on to the next thing...imagine how many others this affected and who would of thought this!!!????
