Dream Car Wont Start - Tears Tears Tears
Had my 2007 Coupe automatic a month and this weekend decided does not want to start (on occasion). Key turns, no engine turnover - no warning lights. Radiator fan comes on at high speed, So i think the ECU is having a brainstorm. Back to the dealer it goes.
But I love this car! Please tell me this is not an inherited problem with no remedy. the previous owner only had it for 2000 miles and now Im wondering if there's a connection
Anybody else had this problem with a fix?

Can I also add - I had the front kerbed alloys sorted this weekend by a local company. He only took the wheels off to work on. Is there a connection with my new problem?, (wheel sensors)

RCM may be the culprit, though I don't know the symptoms...

OH, I am sure there is a connection...lol Unfortunately for you, you aren't making a connection. Need more info as to why she won't turn over. What other problems have you had? Like how old is the battery?
Not sure about the age of the battery. Looks fairly new and you would presume that the dealer made all the required checks before passing it onto me, (Can we trust any dealer).
Ran perfectly before the wheel refurb. No other symptoms as far as I can see. Engine running temperature when driving about is roughly mid gauge. Is this temp typical for a crossfire?
Drove car to dealers today and explained problem. But car decided to work straight away with no issues. Go figure! Left car with dealer and they will look at it on Monday. Fingers crossed

Battery is the 1st thing to check. You can do this by taking it out if you have to, to an auto parts store, like AutoZone, and they will check it out for you for free. If the battery is fine, then the "wheel refurbish" isn't the steering wheel, right? Ignition switch would be next to check, as well as all the fuses that are associated with the ignition. Does it turn over at all? Temp has nothing to do with starting....
Thanks for pointers.
I will wait for Dealer feedback before any DIY checks. When I say wheel refurb I mean Alloy refurb and the reason I mention engine temp is because of the strange activity of the fan. Maybe the car ECU has become confused and thinks that there are problems with the engine temp (in error).
I deal with computers and BIOS stuff likes to "Not Start" if temperature problems are encountered.

No codes at all. Mystery!
If the dealer provides a remedy then I will post here for future reference. May help someone else

I have zero faith in dealerships....good luck. There are some threads you should read thru on here concerning CPS, RCM......Crankshaft Position Sensor, and Relay Control Module...try the search feature for these threads...
Will do. Cheers
Thanks to Rayth also for providing link. Not ready to get soldering iron out yet but nice to know that there's an avenue to explore. Did not realise that this was such a common problem with Crossfires

No Tears, No Fears...
Mine too just had this problem. When i tried to start her, all the dash lights lite up nice and bright, but turn the key and all is silent, no start click, not sounds from the engine at all.
This morning, I tried to start the crossfire with my wife's key and the Crossfire started right up!!!
So then, I tried with my key, and she started right up... ok. Now, not wanting to be stranded somewhere, I investigated under the hood. The neg. battery post had corrosion. I removed the cable and cleaned that up. I then opened the black box next to the battery where the RCM is located and pulled the board as described very well on this site. I had already made the solder repairs two years ago, but decided to recheck. I could see what looked like a crack on one of the solder points previously redone, so I did it again. Not too difficult, if you are unfamiliar with using a soldering iron or don't have one, go to radio shack and purchase the kit for under $10, ask one of the employees to explain how to use it and give it a try.
Anyway, mine starts just fine and I love being able to work on it myself. Thanks to this site and all the wonderful owners out there willing to share... we save alot of money otherwise wasted on dealerships that will replace parts that could otherwise be repaired by "DIY".
Hope this helps!!!

Noticed that no one answered your temperature question :
Half gauge is approx 196 degrees ( normal with A/C on ), it will be just a bit below half when 185 degrees ( normal operating temp )
I have an Ultraguage that displays engine temp, that's how I know what the dash gauge is saying.

The batteries in the key fob have nothing to do with the cranking. Only thing they are there for is to open the doors or trigger the alarm. The transponder inside the fob does not require power, only the location of it in proximity to the pickup ring around the ignition. Don't go looking for a bad fob battery for any cranking issues.
It seems that most of us have little faith in Chrysler dealers. You can save a fortune if you listen to the guys here. RCM, CPS,and battery seem like
pretty good ideas and cheap if do it you self. Good luck let us know what it was.
